  1. Of course they have a say, but they aren’t getting looks at anybody after the first round and maybe second round unless it’s a special circumstance. So if you’re evaluating drafts with 50 rounds of picks, I think that’s worth noting.
  2. Should also be noted that almost all draft prep is overseen by the scouting director, not the gm.
  3. Chris carter had a decent run
  4. At the game. Second row behind jays dugout. Go Sox.
  5. Wasn’t really a dumpster dive. If anything he was signed for what was perceived as above market value for him. It has definitely worked out though. You couldn’t possibly ask for a better start.
  6. Something funny that may have gone unnoticed on that last play to end the inning. Tim fired a bullet to Abreu for whatever reason, and Abreu just kind of looked at him and fired the ball back at him as they cut away.
  7. When you have Delmonico batting behind you, you get 3-1 sliders And that 3-2 call was something special.
  8. There’s too many variables in the game for “absolutes” like this. A manager needs to weigh those variables and make a decision. Some managers are better at it than others.
  9. I’ll be there. Second row behind the Jays dugout. Hopefully a good game.
  10. I just don’t get why you take out Fry in that situation and turn Ramirez around to his stronger side/make it easier for Lindor to run. Fry didn’t look taxed at all.
  11. Wind giveth, wind taketh away.
  12. I believe the howling you hear is the mating call of the Clevelanders, who, once their rascals run out of battery life, cry into the night hoping some lonely wanderer will come rub their belly.
  13. One year deal, arb eligible.
  14. He’s dark and misunderstood. He doesn’t wear eye black for glare, he wears it because life is pain.
  15. I actually give Stone some credit. He’s more more open to how the game has evolved than most guys his age - especially former players his age. I agree the comical interaction can be annoying, but only when it appears to take priority over the game itself. This seems to be happening less this year. Jason seems to be settling in and not trying so hard.
  16. Mid to high 80’s from what I’ve seen.
  17. The actor’s name is LouBobGu. Go figure.
  18. He’s been good. They have him for another year after this one, too, assuming the tender him a contract.
  19. That they get being aggressive, but with nobody out that was a poor decision, giving an easy out at home.
  20. Or for the opposing team. I would also allow that.
  21. This is good stuff.
  22. 99 with his 2sb 107 with the 4sfb
  23. There are few more enjoyable things in this life than seeing disappointment on the face of a Red Sox fan.
