Yeah, I’m not really bummed about Harper just bc I had no hope for them signing him. But this has been an awful offseason for the entire front office. Not only did they completely botch the whole thing, but they did it in the most fan murdering way possible.

I saw this earlier and found it interesting he didn’t give a typical fluff answer. He doesn’t often flat out reject answering a question like that. This would be the sort of thing that would have previously given me hope. Lucky for me, I know now that hope is the devil and life has no meaning.

Yeah my optimism is gone, as is my excitement for the season and overall will to live.

Gomez just reiterated something someone else tweeted earlier after he was asked. And his his info was mostly accurate, especially when compared to others and ESPECIALLY Dan Clark. I believe that’s all that was being said. I don’t think there’s a chance in hell the Sox get Harper, but your assessment was wrong.

Santana will make the Opening Day roster if he’s healthy. They rarely offer that kind of guaranteed money on a minor league deal if it isn’t agreed on already. The MiL deal protects them from injury and buys some time to clear a roster spot.

These dickheads aren’t signing Harper. They’ll sign Adam Jones or something and rave about his leadership in camp.

I’m in Cuba right now so I’m trying to delay my disappointment until I’m home. But I had made plans to take the lady to Chicago this summer for a weekend, and those plans won’t be happening anymore. Going to go somewhere less depressing.

It’s kind of impressive that I’ve lost interest in the season and it’s not even March yet. Usually it takes all the way to June for that to happen. Progress!

He’s never walked much in the minors, but he hits for a high average. I think an OBP in the mid .300’s is a fair expectation. About the same as Manny.
