  1. Yeah, maybe I’m not giving players enough credit. A lot of the time though they just give perameters and the agent finds the team. But I know players too. That was my job. They’re often stupid competitive. They want to be the most, be the best, or make the most. It drives them. Free agency is already a fragile system for a team like ours. Not much room for error. I just hope they get it right.
  2. The primary downside to being so awful thus far, in my opinion, is who the hell would sign here?
  3. Rondon fighting off that 0-2 fastball and then keeping his hands back to pull that double was impressive.
  4. Jimenez might be the same, unfortunately.
  5. Moran looks too LaRochey for my liking.
  6. He did even better! .368/.443/.676 The guy does nothing but rake.
  7. Was thinking the same thing.
  8. Doesn’t really reflect highly on the White Sox development staff.
  9. His power is plus, as is the defense. The main question is his hit tool, which is a big one of course and why I wouldn’t be crazy about taking him 4th.
  10. The most important things a manager does are the things we don’t see.
  11. He really was. He seemed to keep Hawk in a comfort zone where he wasn’t trying to prove how much he knows. And Wimpy is just one of those guys that you can’t help but like. Really good chemistry.
  12. Gameday is saying Fry is throwing 90mph changeup and an 89mph 4-seam fastball. Interesting arsenal he has going on. Really bucking the trends.
  13. Player comps are fun, but I wouldn’t take them too seriously. And I think they can be unfair for a player as well.
  14. I believe Bohm’s main question is his ability to stay at 3B whereas India’s is his lack of track record/legitimacy of power/blah results with wood bats.
  15. Christ that was a meatball
  16. Yeah, I like Omar but he’s been terrible.
  17. Thanks for this. It’ll be interesting to see what happens if/when he gets pushed to AA.
  18. I agree the 3-5 could be in any order. Was going to say that myself, actually. Overall, solid list. My only question would be having Booker at 15. Is that simply him being on the old side for high-A? Other than a few glimpses in ST and scouting the stat line I don’t have a ton to go on, but from what I could see he looked like he might be interesting.
  19. More weird you would single out a guy that isn’t in the lineup.
  20. Most recently I’d say the Royals, and that goes back to the 70’s as well. The Yankees were a rival in the 50’s and early 60’s when they continuously beat out some good White Sox teams. The Indians were a rival in the 50’s as well for the same reason, and again in the 90’s when the Sox finished behind them every year. They still are because of the division.
  21. Well obviously they won’t be the only ones forever. Once we win seven straight World Series’ there will be a whole generation of kids with those names. Yoan and Yolmer will be the new Mike and Matt. Obviously these kids will play baseball too. If you call your kid Jeeves, he’s gonna be a butler. You call him Eloy, he’s playing baseball. And some of these kids will make the bigs. It’s a numbers game. I’m just going to enjoy it while it lasts.
  22. That must have been especially nice for Palka against his former franchise.
  23. I‘m watching on a bit of delay, but I think that home run ball guy needs to get laid.
  24. Seems like he’s been striking out less lately as well.
