  1. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 2, 2017 -> 09:01 PM) it's all good, go Sox! I agree, good sir.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ May 2, 2017 -> 09:00 PM) Always liked Sanchez, even when he looked AAAA. He could be a bench guy in the majors for a long time. Struck me as a guy that could thrive in the NL. Probably still does.
  3. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 2, 2017 -> 08:54 PM) This will be my last post on this but again: Hawk is lucky Stone is there to help him out. He could have easily ripped him a new one right there. in this isolated example, the language used by hawk was fine. Stone went too far. In a broader scope, usually the opposite. I thought you misrepresented what hawk said, so I countered. Not a big deal.
  4. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 2, 2017 -> 08:49 PM) no he didn't. Here's the full transcript: Hawk: well, I've said it before and I''ll say it again, to me, when he is retired, hopefully 15 years from now, you'll look back and say one of the greatest trades the WS ever made was acquiring avi garcia" Stone: "if he keeps playing like he's playing, he'll absolutely be up there". Seems to me Stone's comment is the silly one.
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ May 2, 2017 -> 08:47 PM) Yeah guys he said when Avi retires in 15 years they'll say it was the greatest trade in white Sox history. It's absurd no matter the context. He said hopefully. Big difference.
  6. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 2, 2017 -> 08:45 PM) I'm not sure how a declarative statement, with no caveats before or after, is supposed to be put into "context". He said what he said. "It will be one of the greatest trades in WS history" It was STONE that tried to give context with "if he keeps playing like this". Hawk is lucky that Stone tries to help him instead of just hanging him out to try. "When he is retired, hopefully 15 years from now, you look back and you will say one of the best trades etc....."
  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 2, 2017 -> 08:42 PM) lol, that's a verbatim quote, bruh. what context are you f***ing even on about? Context and verbatim are not the same thing.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ May 2, 2017 -> 08:11 PM) Did Duffy dip when he pitched last year? Looks stupid. He dips, you dip, we dip.
  9. Jim palmer's analysis of the machado home run was fantastic. "Well the velocity has gone down. I mean, you know, it was at 98, so...still good at 95, 98" Never thought of it that way.
  10. Hey gang, did you know the Royals bullpen isn't as good as it used to be?!?
  11. we knew when we drafted him that he was a beast controlling the running game, but that questionable bat they kept talking about is still a problem. I guess that's baseball....so predictable. Edited because I can't spell
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 02:27 PM) Wish we were seeing more development so far from him this year Struggling can be part of development. He needs to adjust, and I'm sure he's intelligent enough to realize this and obviously talented enough to execute. Obviously no guarantees, but I'm not ready to worry too much. He's also seemingly started slow every year while going through the minor leagues.
  13. Not able to watch the game, but Avi exited early and is listed as day-to-day. Nothing bad I'm assuming?
  14. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 30, 2017 -> 12:04 PM) That sucks,really look forward to Kopech starts Dunning filling in for him!! Jake Dunning!!
  15. Agreed. He still makes some mistakes, but that is to be expected. He has all the tools to be great and seemingly the head and work ethic to match. One pleasant surprise is his arm. scouting reports seemed mixed on it, and seeing a dart to first from the left side of the infield makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
  16. Giolito is only a few months older than Dunning, both 22 years old. I don't imagine giolito would struggle in low A.
  17. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 21, 2017 -> 07:38 PM) Stfu Asche and sit your salty ass down. So awful. Rebuilding sucks lol Maybe I'm missing something, but why even bother with Asche? I don't really get what they see in him.
  18. Hopefully he comes back strong. He was looking good. With the Padres covering half or so of his salary, if he can be a serviceable 4th starter he could be moved. Probably not much of a return, but at least some payroll being cleared.
  19. Cardinals have said publicly they're concerned about the bullpen. Deep pockets. Decent farm.
  20. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 14, 2017 -> 09:02 PM) Willy has a good swing Been thinking the same thing. Hitterish.
  21. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 05:43 PM) Doesn't matter, 4 K's per 9 isn't going to work at the major league level. Well, it does matter. You'd still like to see him get some punchouts, but it's more acceptable from him than most other guys. I guess the point being for the type of pitcher he is, a 9-1 go/ao ratio is more encouraging to me than his k rate is discouraging.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 9, 2017 -> 03:16 PM) Only two K's, which isn't going to work. He's a sinkerballer. 9-1 GO/FO
  23. Avi seemed to be in some pain. We'll see next half inning. Maybe I'm seeing things.
  24. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 8, 2017 -> 10:16 AM) Blister was a recurring issue a lot of last year for him. He missed 5 weeks or something. They have depth to fill in for that.
