  1. Where is this 94-95 you speak of anyways? I'm laughing because I have a World Series ring to my credit as a scout But you have more posts. So you're the smart one
  2. QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 10:30 PM) Whenever you're offended in life it isn't a problem? You're a better man than I, then. I'll leave you to not giving a poop. As clearly, you know very well that I do. This place is something I take very very serious. Jesus Christ man. You're a f***ing loser.
  3. QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 08:26 PM) Tone on the Internet is pretty difficult to understand. Your disdane is likely projection in this case. Sorry you were offended but it's really your problem. Cheers. Tone can be difficult for sarcasm and such. Not statements devoid of opinion. And it isn't a problem. It's a message board. Who gives a s***. .
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) That article is from 2013, I bet it was right before he had his TJS Could be, but velocity doesn't tend to variate 10mph. I was just posting what I read. This nonsense reminds me why I post so seldom.
  5. QUOTE (hi8is @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) 94-95 on the fastball. Try again. I said from the one scouting report I read, which is this one: http://www.bluejaysfromaway.com/lansing-le...outing-reports/ Don't really see why the attitude is necessary. If you've seen something different, post it. We're all going on speculation. That "try again" stuff is just childish.
  6. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 08:18 PM) He's 25 and just out of A ball. Whiffed again... I believe he had TJ surgery for what it's worth. Drafted out of college his development would be behind logically. But who knows. The bar is as low as it gets in this case.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 06:59 PM) Melky has the flu. Heck of a disciplined performance so far. Two pick offs and a blown bunt assignment. I was hoping a trade was in the works.
  8. QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 26, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) Well, he probably does have deception because Steve Stone just said he has a lot of strikeouts on his record. According to the whitesox.com article (http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/197828950/white-sox-acquire-left-hander-colton-turner/)... This year Turner has a 1.33 ERA over 54 innings with 70 strikeouts (averaging over 11 strikeouts per 9 innings) between class-a and AA for Toronto. He is 12-9 with a 2.76 ERA and 200 strikeouts in 107 games (16 starts) in the Blue Jays' system. He also had a 5.23 ERA over 9 appearances in AAA. Those seem like pretty solid numbers to me other than the AAA stint which might be of concern... I know the k/9 was high in a-ball, but he's also 25. It's hard to know for sure. And I think he's only made it to AA so far, which is where the struggles were.
  9. From the only scouting report I read he throws his fastball around 85mph, unless he has crazy deception or something I wouldn't expect much. He's also Rule 5 eligible. But the fact we got anything for him is a small victory.
  10. I didn't get very far into this post. I stopped at Nate Jones being a one-pitch pitcher. Nate Jones has an elite slider, when it's on. Elite.
  11. My old man called and asked who was winning. My answer was "who gives a s***" He tore into me pretty good, but I also can't remember a point in my life where I cared less. This organization is a punchline.
  12. Come on, guys and girls. There is a lot to get mad about. But this isn't it. "We gave up something to get something!!" Frazier has been great. What more do you want?
  13. I have no regrets over the trade, and wish Trayce well. Glad to have Frazier.
  14. I'm cool with trading EJ while he still has some credibility. His velocity is gone, and he doesn't have the command to make that workable. But I don't want Shields at that salary. Edit: spelling boo-boo
  15. Watching Ventura manage is like watching the episode of Seinfeld where George is trying to get fired but can't.
  16. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 28, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) I haven't watched 1 second today. Just checked box score. Do I even want to know anymore Box score says it all
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 28, 2016 -> 04:22 PM) Kahnle over Jones? Jones doesn't come in until the lead is coughed up.
  18. QUOTE (oldsox @ May 28, 2016 -> 12:29 PM) Correct. A little early to make that kind of statement. Players can turn things around. The draft hasn't happened. No prospects have moved teams yet. Prospects in the minors will graduate, or not graduate. Who the hell knows.
  19. http://www.southsidesox.com/2016/5/27/1180...ed-out-of-order Good write up on South Side Sox. The Robin ridiculousness wasn't lost on ol' Jim Margalus
  20. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 27, 2016 -> 09:30 PM) If this season ends up looking worse where we're likely not contending, I wouldn't mind some young guys coming up to get some at bats and experience the rest of the way (Coats in a corner spot-Melky DH, Davidson up to get at bats between DH,1B,3B, more Saladino at short (not quite ready to call up Anderson personally), call up Kevan Smith while releasing Avila because: why not?). Might as well try Coats anyways. Can't be worse than Sands. He's not a future regular either, so it isn't as though he needs to be getting regular at bats.
  21. QUOTE (Butter Parque @ May 27, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) Just the idea that Jones did end up pitching in the 7th, but only after the lead was gone. I'm mesmerized by the stupidity involved in that thinking. There was an open base, and an inferior hitter on deck that would match up with your best non-closer. It should have been academic. Especially if you're just going to burn Jones out anyways. Robin is a smart man, so I don't know what he's thinking sometimes.
  22. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 27, 2016 -> 09:17 PM) Hawk said they were 4-16 in the last 16 Yeah I was just making fun of Hawk. Making fun of old people's senility makes me feel better about being me.
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 27, 2016 -> 09:14 PM) How did Harrelson handle things? Didn't hear any comments about him in the game thread... Surprisingly well. He got on Angel a bit, but not overly so. And it was with good reason. The time off must be helping his nerves.
