  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 24, 2016 -> 03:42 PM) If the White Sox take on McCutchen, they reduce greatly the prospect return. I believe he meant the pirates make the deal and trade cutch afterwards. Also, I agree with those questioning why wouldn't just eat some money to get a deal done and boost the return.
  2. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 17, 2016 -> 02:13 PM) Admittedly, Toronto is a stretch but I don't think they would be too far off as long they don't consider any of their minor leaguers to be off limits. Urena, McGwire, Tellez and Vlady Jr definitely peak my interest. I know the Jays front office. No trade there.
  3. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 16, 2016 -> 11:42 PM) Could see Nats go for Holland first though. I would actually love to see us sign Holland. It further opens up the market for Robertson, plus adds an arm that could prove valuable come the trade deadline.
  4. QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Dec 11, 2016 -> 07:57 PM) Rick Hahn was GM when the Sox traded for James Shields. Nice
  5. "Shrugs" "snicker" Grow up.
  6. QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 11, 2016 -> 06:31 PM) Would people here rather have Pint or Hoffman as a second piece behind Rodgers? I'd prefer Pint, personally. Healthy track record and a stunning resemblance to Seth McFarland. Win-win.
  7. Thank you for the summaries.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 10, 2016 -> 10:03 PM) Last time I promised to do this the site went down I may listen tonight and will post notes. Good thing to listen to while doing dishes Much obliged, sir. At a family event...
  9. Can't really listen at the moment. Can anyone provide quick notes on anything worth noting? Much obliged.
  10. They committed to a direction and are thus far executing it brilliantly. This was long overdue.
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:56 PM) I'm gona look at the Rockies. They could be sneaky Rumors they may look to move an OF to make room for Trumbo. Side note: trumbo in coors would be awesome.
  12. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 07:27 PM) I think he wants Torres and Torrens. Meant to have Mateo in there. Put Torrens twice because I'm an idiot.
  13. I want to see Q to the Yankees for Frazier, Mateo, Rutherford, Torrens (not to be confused with Torres).
  14. Sure we need position players more, but we need value most. If our farm is stacked we can deal to fill holes when they arise and the team is ready to make a run.
  15. Considering the amount of pieces we still have to deal, our future is looking pretttty, prettttty, pretttty good.
  16. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 09:54 PM) For Quintana alone, I'd probably accept Giolito, Robles, and Severino Might also get them to bite on DRob. They're in on Davis who is also expensive and has health questions. Maybe package them together even.
  17. Interesting and maybe mentioned already, but BP has Robles ranked ahead of Giolito.
  18. DD mentioned getting an 8th inning guy is a top priority and that they need to watch payroll to stay under the tax threshold. He is known to covet power arms. Add Nate Jones to Sale and you could probably get a massive haul. I'm thinking Moncada, Devers, Kopech, plus others
  19. I like Tapia and Marquez
  20. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:53 AM) I have a prejudice against subjective rankings of players, particularly those with even the slightest hint of failure in the low minors. I also have a prejudice against pre-injured pitchers. We've all seen top prospects fail, and we've all been deceived by "tools" in a prospect. I'm also suspicious about why these guys are available, and I also don't believe that they represent enough of a premium to pay for proven performance in a player with ~$150MM+ in surplus value. All taken together, I don't like this trade being centered around these two. By this logic, you should be suspicious of anybody we acquire. They're available because Sale is really good and they want to win now at the expense of the future.
  21. QUOTE (Two-Gun Pete @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:00 AM) Fangraphs has his FV as all of 40, largely owing to his hit tool being judged as being below average. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...amp;position=OF In other words, his FV is roughly equivalent to Charlie Tilson. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-21-pros...cago-white-sox/ The scouting reports on the player pages are outdated, back when Kiley was doing lists. Don't bother with them. Robles' stock has skyrocketed.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) Is Conforto worth both? No but a good starter. I'd ask for Rosario and go from there, but that's a long shot I think.
  23. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) Conforto Good call.
  24. With word of the Mets on the lookout for two late inning relievers, I can't help but wonder what we could get for Robertson and Jones. Rosario is probably a stretch, but maybe Dunn? Just a thought.
  25. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 22, 2016 -> 01:26 AM) Good stuff here. I don't remember where I heard it but when Buehrle got hazed by James Baldwin he went up to him years later and screamed "f*** you!" in his face. I think it was Marcus Stroman he took under his wing, specifically. What a guy. Hope all is good here. Now give us some rumours!!
