  1. Trayce is probably a .720 OPS CF with good defense. And that is a valuable player. Be prepared for a drop off, but don't crucify him for it.
  2. Heyward is a good player being paid like a great one. Fitting for the franchise he signed with.
  3. QUOTE (Blackout Friday @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 10:30 PM) I follow along on this site fairly religiously. Seldom do I feel the need to post something, unless I'm drunk or some dumb s***. but I feel the need to add this to the discussion. I live in Toronto. I worked as a bartender during Lawrie's rookie year. He was a hero. No other way to put it. He was the franchise saviour for the Blue Jays. He was the Canadian cover athlete for our version of MLB THE SHOW, for example. He was still a kid. Maybe 22? I met him a couple times while working. He always seemed quiet and polite, though somewhat intense. Never rude. Then he was traded for Josh Donaldson. He was expected to replace an MVP type player. Again, perhaps impossible expectations What I'm getting at is....maybe he can benefit from not being expected to be "the answer" and just be the player he is. I think that can be a good player. If you excuse intensity for being a "douche" that's is a mistake. And those who like to make personal assumptions about people they don't know? Chill, head. Was still drunk. But all true. Lawrie's rep as a "douche" is presumptuous and stupid.
  4. Comparisons of Brian Anderson are....misguided. Given a roster spot, and his defence, all he has to do is get on base three times out of ten to be useful. This is what it's come to.

  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 08:48 AM) AA is not returning because management was upset that he was traded so many prospects due to his "win now" mindset. Whether intentional or not, this is hilarious.
  7. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 8, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) I have 0 confidence we will clean up next year. That's rule breaking. Jerry would never. I was under the impression Jerry's loyalty was to Selig. I'm still not very confident in them going over, but maybe we get lucky and he does it out of spite against that young punk Manfred.
  8. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 12:03 PM) Another week, another live visit. This time Rob Young was in Winston-Salem to see the playoff-bound Dash. He managed to get exclusive interviews with Carson Fulmer, Spencer Adams, Brian Clark, Matt Cooper, JR Perdew (pitching coach) and Eddy Alvarez. Read them all here. What are your impressions on these guys, after reading what they have to say? I rarely post (obviously), but would like to let you know how much your hard work is appreciated. That said...Fulmer was drafted 8th overall. And his name is Dansby Swanson. I only mention this so it can be corrected and some numbnuts won't discount your efforts over minute details.
  9. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ May 11, 2015 -> 07:32 PM) He absolutely tore up the minors and he's currently giving large value in the majors, through both hitting and baserunning, and would be even more valuable for us as we'd be able to fit him in a spot where we have more need and where he's better defensively. Don't think 6 cheap years of that was even worth peak Samardzija but it sure as s*** isn't worth this version. 6 years control doesn't necessarily equal 6 cheap years.
  10. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 11, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) You think Anderson is ready? Not sure about that one, I think he should be starting next year if he continues to play well this year Agreed. He's not ready. Defense needs work. Approach is borderline awful. Major League pitchers would eat him alive.
  11. QUOTE (daggins @ May 11, 2015 -> 05:55 PM) Well, this is the worst possible scenario for the Samardzija trade. Semien is great and Shark is a disaster. No comp pick at the end of the season. There is a comp pick.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 5, 2015 -> 06:54 PM) I think if Balta repeats that often enough, the mantra will stick. It's like subliminal marketing messages that are reiterated over and over again. How this can't be OBVIOUS to JR/KW/Hahn is beyond everyone... That's kind of the opposite of subliminal.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 20, 2015 -> 10:04 PM) You are welcome guys, I just turned it on the bottom of the 9th There have been 10 innings I haven't seen live so far this year. The 9 against Detroit where we won 12-3, and the 9th inning of this game.
  14. They're walking Arcia for Suzuki? What is going on?
  15. Adam Eaton (6 pts): Melky Cabrera (3 pts): glangon, shysocks Jose Abreu (1 pts): LetTheBallFly, CarlosMartinez, KG#1 Adam LaRoche (2 pts): Aviasil Garcia (3 pts): ChiSox59, MHizzle85, Jose Abreu, hi8is Alexei Ramirez (4 pts): lord chas, BigHurt3515 Gillespie/Beckham (4 pts): iamshack, Soto/Tyler Flowers (3 pts): Blackout Friday Micah Johnson/Carlos Sanchez (6 pts): Condor13 Bench (8 pts):
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Jesus Christ LaRoche. That's 2 at bats where he didn't even swing the bat. At least Adam Dunn swung at stuff. lol He swung at the only pitch in the strike zone.
  17. That was disappointing. I'm not liking our chances if it comes down to a battle of bullpens. We need to hold them this half and get to Duffy next inning, which will be his last almost definitely.
  18. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 07:56 PM) Abreu did not look good in that AB. Looked to me as though he was looking off speed.
  19. Maybe the strategy is to try and get our guys beaned so we can actually get some baserunners.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 06:25 PM) That wasn't on purpose. If it was, he wouldn't have hit him with a breaking ball. It was clocked at 93.
  21. Adam Eaton 8: Melky Cabrera 3: Jose Abreu, Jose Abreu 1: Adam LaRoche 2: Aviasil Garcia 4: Condor13, LetTheBallFly, Alexei Ramirez 4: Connor Gillespie 6: Tyler Flowers 5: hi8is, Blackout Friday Micah Johnson 8: Bench 8:
  22. At home. Belatedly on MLB.TV.....with one hand down my pants and another holding a beer, Al Bundy style.
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 12, 2015 -> 07:24 PM) 2 games today. Just filling in. Sox 8th will be May, Barnum, Thompson, Ferrell. Right, right....makes sense. Thanks.
  24. Anybody else notice Coleman coaching first and Boston is n the bench? Is this going to be the new thing?
