Jason Heyward to Cubs (8 yrs 184M)
QUOTE (Lillian @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 04:10 PM) For how many years is that $200 million offer? I'm guessing anywhere from 7-10.

Teams asking about Thompson
How would you guys feel about a Trayce/Avi/Danish for Marcell Ozuna/Derek Dietrich swap?

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 12:25 PM) Don't you remember the Samardzija and Tanaka threads? I wasn't on this forum a year ago... I wish I would've registered here earlier. I love this place.

It would be so awesome if the Sox swooped in and got him at the last second.

Rockies outfielders in trade talks
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 12:13 PM) Why couldn't Avi start in AAA? Probably because Hahn doesn't want to pay a guy $2 million or so to play in AAA.

Plans for rest of the Off Season
QUOTE (Saufley @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 12:06 PM) As I said in my post, what about developing a closer from our organization. With all of these young power arms is there a closer there? Robertson is one of our real chips for a trade and it might be worth to trade. Just throwing out ideas. I guess so, but I feel like it's too early to put Montas or Fulmer into that role and Nate Jones isn't good enough. Who knows.

Plans for rest of the Off Season
QUOTE (Saufley @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 11:31 AM) What about our own David Robertson. I liked the signing of Robertson last year and would not mind keeping him. But, I wonder what his worth is? If Hahn could trade him for another position player who could help why not deal him. Why not look at our own organization and try to develop a young arm into a closer? Who would the closer be for the Sox if he was moved? I feel like if the Sox want to compete, they need an elite closer. We all remember the 'closer by committee' disaster in 2014. I don't want a repeat of that.

Todd Frazier Available
I think Fulmer's floor is an elite closer and his ceiling is a very solid #2 starter. We'll have to see how he develops.

Rockies outfielders in trade talks
I'd be fine with LaRoche/Montas/Danish for Cargo/$$$

Todd Frazier Available
I could see Cincy getting desperate to move him before the season starts, hence lowering the package that the Sox would have to send to them. I'd wait it out a little while to hopefully get Cincy to give in on a deal.

Winter Meetings: Predictions
I want absolutely nothing to do with Matt Kemp...a deal for him has disaster written all over it.

Astros trade for Ken Giles
I wonder what DRob would bring in a trade.

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:43 PM) It's amazing how many people were blasting KW about possibly paying too much before the deal but are praising Hahn for making a great deal afterwards. They gave up minimal assets to get him. It makes you wonder why the A's were so desperate to get rid of him after only 1 year when he was an important piece of a trade. He's not a good clubhouse guy from what I've heard, but I honestly don't give a rats ass about that. He has serious talent at a position the Sox seriously needed to upgrade. If he plays like he can and helps the team improve, I really couldn't care less what his personality is.

QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) I would be extatic! Who plays SS for that team? Saladino and Sanchez being the Utility guy? Honestly, I'd like to see Sanchez as the starting SS next year, but I have a feeling that Saladino will win the job. I think that Sanchez could be a similar type player to Erick Aybar in his prime. Not a ton of pop, but solid contact/defense/speed/baseball IQ.

Would y'all be content if Hahn ended the meetings by trading for Frazier and signing Upton? I'd be happy with that I think.

Joey Butler
Nevermind, I didn't know he was claimed by the Indians. Mods, feel free to delete this thread.

Joey Butler
I noticed that he was DFA'ed by the Rays. He looked pretty solid against the Sox and he's only 29 or so. Would anyone besides me not be opposed to giving this guy a shot to win a spot on the team?

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) @MLBBruceLevine: The WhiteSox move does not preclude a trade for a third baseman ( Todd Frazier ) Lawrie plays second base as well . Interesting...

White Sox acquire Brett Lawrie
QUOTE (dpd9189 @ Dec 9, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) Not a Cub fan but Lawrie had a 0.6 WAR last year. This is nothing more than a stop gap move. If people think he's the long term answer at 3rd, he's not. He had a 1.9 WAR last year...
