  1. The only "supporter" of Rowand is his jock at this moment
  2. Me neither and I tend to agree with you. I was just pointing out that ELo could, conceivably, be 6/7-0/1 right now with just a little bit of offensive (and defensive: see Dransfeldt) support in his last 3 starts.
  3. You haven't heard? Frank's a "power hitter" now. "That's what he (I'm) is supposed to do." At least that's what he said last year when we needed him to play unselfish baseball. The only time Frank hits to RF now is when he's fooled by a pitch and swings late.
  4. Don't let the recent "fall" of ELo fool you. In two of his recent losses, he has pitched well enough to win (no offensive support) and in the other, he threw a complete game and lost.
  5. If possible, I'd attempt to do something with a different BP arm instead of sending down one of our, up until now, most reliable arms.
  6. DM was quoted before tonights Sox game something to this effect..... "The Sox have always had the better players. We just bring our game to another level and not try to do too much when playing these guys." DM's right in one respect. The White Sox have the better players. The Twins, however, have (in '02 and '03) the better team. All those players don't mean jack if all they're going to do is swing for the fences. Teams win baseball games. Not players.
  7. I said, "Rowand has not disappointed his naysayers" (those that thought he would suck) but that is neither here nor there. Rowand=Graffenino with regular playing time which means both are revealed to be above average bench players but sub-par everyday players. Rowand needs to check himself and realize he blows and is much better suited in the back-up role.
  8. Word. Rowand sucked bad last season after being handed the CF job and he hasn't disappointed his naysayers early on this season either.

I've been around. Lurking mostly and reading posts. I needed a break from posting for a few months. But I'm back!!!!!
  10. Or throw over a few buffet tables and call the entire team a bunch of "b****es."
  11. This team has been playing over it's head for a month and about 2 weeks now. Had to come down to earth sooner or later. This team needs a CF, a closer, another BP arm, and either Valentin, Crede, or, I hate to say it since he's one of my favorites, Konerko, needs to go.
  12. Take nothing away from the Twins. As it was in '02 and '03, they're the better ballclub right now. Gardenhire has out-Ozzie balled Oz these first 2 games.
  13. Then Ozzie needs to sit Valentin, Konerko, and Crede tomorrow but that is practically impossible. People rip on Konerko and Valentin, and most of the time, it's justified. But Crede absolutely, unequivocally, without a shadow of a doubt..... SUCKS offensively and his sporadic if any contribution to the offense needs to be addressed along with PK's and JV's. This team's first-half garbage makes their second-half runs (the past few seasons) all the more difficult. The next time Crede swings at the first pitch and pops up, I better see his no hitting ass drop at home and give me 20 push-ups.

Every game counts. And with this all or nothing offense, you better beat Division rivals as often as possible..... be it in April and May or August and September. Don't believe me? Ask JM what a bad May can do for the remaining 4 months of your season.
  15. Twins v. Yanks during '03's regular season..... YANKS-7 Twins-0
  16. Agreed. If those two questionable calls, to Hawk atleast (I thought they were balls), are balls for Marte then a pitch 6 inches off the plate in the same location to Harris should be a ball for Nathan too.
  17. When baserunners are getting 3-5 step jumps off of your starting pitchers, it's going to be tough for Jesus H. Christ at C to throw out a base stealer. Olivo and Alomar cannot be blamed for the Sox SP not being able to hold a base stealing threat close. It's almost like conceding a double everytime someone with some speed hits a single.
  18. That's debatable. Off the top of my head the Sox have played the NYY and the Twins ANA. Those cancel out. Both have played Cleveland and KC, I think. The Sox have played TB and the Twins have played DET. DET is a much improved team and was >.500 when the Twins played them and DET is a better team than TB..... IMHO. SEA and TOR both sucked when the two respective teams played them. However, the Twins took care of their business with SEA while the Sox went 3-4 against a struggling TOR team. MIN went 1-2 against a decent OAK squad while the White Sox went 4-2 against a decent BAL team. What does that all mean? Not sure..... but I think both schedules have been, when all the "+'s" and "-'s" are fairly discussed, equal.
  19. To shag fly balls during batting practice?
  20. I can guarantee that that will not happen. The Sox better be winning and winning big (4+ runs) in the 9th if they decide to bring Botch in this weekend against a never-say-die Twins team.
  21. No Granted, he pitched well yesterday. It's the one start out of 10 every year where JG looks completely dominant. Only problem with yesterday's performance was the Sox decided to play Corpseball in both games. I only say that because PK was responsible for 5 of the 6 runs scored in Game 2. Jon Garland is still, at best, a number 4 on a decent team and a number 5 on a good team. He's the definition of mediocre. He doesn't have the intestinal fortitude to hunker up and bear down. And he still cannot avoid the big inning in a game..... especially when he's spotted an early lead.
  22. Even though a joke, I'm glad you didn't include "Sox fans fed up w/JR and his continual penny-pinching in an attempt to hopefully improve the team with cheap, easy to come by stop-gaps instead of spending some money in an attempt to definitely improve the team." I've had about an ass-full of JR's s*** and I cannot take it anymore. This past offseason of practically nothing was the last straw. I'm taking my cue from JR and counting all the money I'm saving by watching the White Sox on TV instead of wasting it on a team that will probably make some moves before the trading deadline but will either not make the significant moves needed or will not fill the holes with the best players available. It's killing me to not attend one White Sox game this season that I have to pay for or to go out and support the guys on the field, but after 20+ years of nothing, I simply cannot fork money over to JR for zip/zilch anymore. And I definitely have the means. I made a vow and I'm standing by it..... come hell or (more likely) high water.
  23. You're naive. This Islamic Fanaticism goes all the way back to the Crusades and to the eras before THAT even. All this garbage is gonna stop if Bush is voted out of the Presidency? Damn..... I wish it would be that easy.
