yeah after tonites disaster.....no s***........we will be lucky to be in 2nd....... If it wasn't for Cleveland, we'd be tied for 2nd yeah no s***.........and if it wasnt for jm we would most likely be alone at the top about now...... Very sad but oh so true -
a wake yes.. and im sure there will be some irish there too.. but 40 grand... i highly doubt after tonites showing...... 40,000 pissed off Sox fans. Wait till JM makes his first appearance to make an unwarranted pitching change do i forsee throwing of beer cups????/ and anything else that isnt nailed, cememted, or glued down???? It's against KC too If anybody wearing anything with "Sox" on it so much as farts towards the field of play, ESPN and the national media will be all over it.

When you're swinging for the fences against Major League pitching, most of the time you're going to just miss it.

I'm jealous of all those fans with the exception being the Cubs. :fthecubs

KC lost tonight. I thought we were only one up. If it's two, my mistake.

We're only one game up on KC. I'm going with 3rd.

In my lifetime? '84, '94, '97, '01, and..... by the looks of it..... '03.

To the first sentence..... To the second sentence.....

You see it as lack of offense. I see it as KW doing his Gm'ing duties half-assed and not trading for a reliable 5th starter. The Sox were 1-3 in games Cotts started..... in August. Danny Wrong is 1-7 (?) on the season..... although the Sox did win a few games (one Cubs game for example) that Wrong started although he didn't get the win. That's 10 losses out of 12 games by record right there started by the 5th starter spot. And what was Stewart? I know he won one and lost one to Detroit. I can't recall that far back in the season but what was his record when he was sent down to the minors? I'm willing to bet it was atleast a game under .500. Fact of the matter is, the 5th spot was a problem all season long that KW failed to address and now it's coming back to bite us. He did make sure though to trade for more offense when a player we had at one of the traded for positions was starting to get hot (Everett/Rowand).

Wow, that's quite a conspiracy theory there. Is the owner in Major League now in Chicago? Keep lying to yourself. When what I outlined above happens it will be much easier for me to accept.

I agree with all but point 3. IMO, Garland was not the option last night. Starting pitchers have a routine on their scheduled start. Telling Garland 1 to 2 hours prior to the game and then sending him out to toe the rubber could have been devastating. Maybe I'm wrong, but knowing how quirky some starting pitcher are about their game day routines, Jon wouldn't have been in the right mindset. Just my opinion, of course. Jon's a professional. He should come to the ballpark everyday with the mindset that he is starting. That goes for EL, BC, MB, and whoever our number 5 is from week-to-week. Sorry, it doesn't work that way, not with starting pitchers. Everyday players, yes. Starting pitchers, no. I'm not a starting pitcher but I have a routine I go through before work everyday. I'm sure starting pitchers do too..... whether they are starting or not. Otherwise, what's the sense of having them in uniform, in the dugout, every game?

Then why is the media reporting that he did vomit this AM?

One of the reasons why Grady Little will probably be managing in the playoffs and JM won't
-
Then tell us what happened. I just heard an audio clip of JM stating he knew ELo was sicker than just "the cough" that JM claimed he had during last night's postgame interview. Enlighten us all knowing one.

She's as much an "insider" as the guy that empties the trash cans in the USCF parking lots every morning. This I KNOW from firsthand, reliable soures.

My point is thus..... 1. I know JM HAD TO KNOW Loaiza's condition. 2. I know JM HAD TO KNOW Loaiza would say, as a competitor, that he'd be ready to go and work through it. 3. I know JM WOULDN'T HAVE THE CAJONES to tap ELo on the shoulder, tell him he can't pitch in his condition with the series implications, give the ball to JG, and tell ELo to rest up and get ready for the next game. See..... what is lost on most here..... is that JM gets paid to MAKE MANAGERIAL DECISIONS! At any time, he can bump or up a SP's start. That's what he is PAID TO DO! If JM doesn't stand up for himself, what makes you think he'd stand up for ELo? The points you made JimH were good though. While JM is never FULLY to blame, he is not WITHOUT blame in this one.

If we're two out before the KC series, there is a good chance that we'd be in 3rd Place too
-
Can we please stop blaming JM around here?
