Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 04:23 PM) All cubs fans at work are saying tonight is automatic and that they are going to the next around. Must be true. Even if the Cubs win tonight the Cardinals could pound Hammel and then beat Lester again, it's far from being automatic. Hammel has been awful since June and Lackey has dominated the Cubs in all 4 starts against them this year.

Blue Jays vs Rangers Series thread
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 04:15 PM) I like the Cubs, Mets, Cardinals and Mets over all AL teams except the Jays. I still think the jury is out on just how good the top NL teams are, considering the AL dominance in interleague play and how awful the bottom of the NL is. I just don't buy that the top NL teams are any better. Plus anything can happen in a 7-game series.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 04:16 PM) Cardinals need to be patient and not swing at crap. They needed to go across town and ask the Royals, who hit 3 HR off Arrieta earlier this year. Also, remember Prior and Wood were supposed to be automatic at home in 2003 as well.

Blue Jays vs Rangers Series thread
So much for the good offenses don't do well in the playoffs talk. Also, I think it's ridiculous to claim the Jays are the only team with a reasonable shot at the World Series title, none of the NL teams really look like juggernauts, and I think people are underrating the Rangers and Astros.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:45 PM) Judging by social media, why even play the game? Cubs Nation assuming it's 2-1 them already. Losing this game would take the air out of them. Cmon Wacha. Them losing today would definitely put it up there with all their other heartbreaking losses. Make it happen Cardinals.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 10:10 AM) This is exactly what is happening in Chicago. Cubs fans are genuinely offended by Sox fans not rooting for them. Even the media has picked this up with stories like the bar serving free drinks when the Cubs give up homers. I still don't understand the confusion over this. I don't think there's anyone who would be surprised by Mets fans rooting against the Yankees (and vice-versa) but somehow it comes as a shock that Sox fans aren't going out of their way to support the Cubs.

ALDS: Astros vs. Royals Thread
Go Astros! If the Blue Jays lose I'm rooting for them to go all the way.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
The problem with Cub fans is that they're arrogant when they have no reason to be, and yet they still somehow have a reputation as a "great" fanbase nationally, even though anyone who has to live with them daily knows that they're far more insufferable than loveable.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
Even if Arrieta wins it tomorrow (and he looked pretty hittable on Wednesday if the Pirates hadn't been so busy psyching themselves out), I don't think the Cards are done. Hammel hasn't been any good since the first half, and they already beat Lester and the Cubs can't touch Lackey this year.

ALDS: Astros vs. Royals Thread
It would be great if the Astros could sweep their asses. They might have three playoff wins before the Cards, Mets, and Dodgers even played a game.

White Sox peripherally make news for Cub Hating
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 01:19 PM) You think them winning will shut them up? LOL! More like "never shut up again for the rest of their lives".

White Sox official website has a possible Quintana trade chip post
Q for Bradley Jr/Swihart/+1 other prospect actually seems about what I'd expect to get for Quintana.

Blue Jays vs Rangers Series thread
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 12:05 PM) Lord, I wish that Donaldson was on the Sox so badly. I wonder what it would have taken to get him this past offseason. Jays absolutely destroyed LHP this year, Hamels may be in a for a rough day. That's why I think our biggest accomplishment this year was limiting the Jays to just 10 runs in a 4-game series where we threw out 3 lefties against them.

My/Your Off Season Plan
If LaRoche sucks again next year I think the Sox won't be afraid to bench him, it doesn't really hurt to eat the money in the last year of a contract. Same with Danks.

Blue Jays vs Rangers Series thread
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 11:57 AM) WTF? Rangers that good or are the Blue Jays just falling apart? Blue Jays defense had a bad inning. This series so far is another reminder that anything can happen in a short series. Obviously far from over. Stroman just got out of a big jam to limit the damage to 2 runs.

2015-16 NCAA Football Thread
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 10:38 AM) Right now, Utah and Florida have the most impressive wins. I'm not saying I think they'll stay up there or even that they're one of the four best teams, but based on body of work they deserve it as of right now. No team has really looked all that dominant so far or has really made it obvious that they're definitely one of the best five teams in the country (maybe Utah, but they also struggled a bit against Utah State).

White Sox peripherally make news for Cub Hating
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 9, 2015 -> 10:03 AM) It absolutely would come up. Anything Yankees always comes up in the sporting world news. Not sure if I agree, I don't think everyone expects Mets fans to support the Yankees when they're on a playoff run.

Yankees could target Samardjiza
I'm all ready to be pissed when Samardzija has an ERA around 3 with his new team next season.
