I thought that best record does determine home field advantage for the World Series? The Allstar Game no longer determines it and they no longer alternate between leagues from what I understand. But I could be wrong...Manfred might have had the managers play a round robin match of pinball to determine HFA for all I know.

At this point, I am going with Cease in game 4 over Dallas but otherwise I agree with your points.

With the remaining schedule, the Sox definitely have a great shot at pushing for home field advantage at least through the AL. If we have to play on the road for an extra game to win the WS, I'll take it.

It is funny that you can look at that a couple of ways...of course Billy is the superior pinch runner....but he is also a terrific public relations guy because Sox fans have grown to love his style of play and infectious attitude.

If I am remembering correctly, wasn't Lopez not rated as high on the prospect list because many felt he was destined to be a reliever? Maybe it just took a little longer to find the right spot for him? Maybe Katz is just a damn good pitching coach and working with him more has finally paid off? Whatever it is, it is a bit of a game changer for the bullpen going forward if Lopez has figured it out.

Another overheard at the ballpark moment. My son went to the john in the later innings and he said they were playing the radio or tv audio feed there and one of the announcers said he noticed a trend in this series....that the Sox never trailed in any of the games. Then from across the room he heard a Cubbie fan yell at the feed...."F&%$ YOU!!!"

I think that may qualify as a good old fashioned ass kickin there.

Before the game started, I looked around and saw a sea of Cubby blue all around the ballpark....lbut as that wonderful 1st inning developed it sounded like Sox fans outnumbered them 10 to 1. "Let's Go White Sox" echoed through the stands a good portion of the game.

Overheard at Wrigley in the 1st inning from an already drunken Cubbie fan...."friggin Sox Fans".....but he didnt say friggin. ?
