Good start...adding on runs late is huge to paraphrase Farmio.

If Duke Ellis makes it to the big leagues I hope his walkup song is Sir Duke by Stevie Wonder.

I agree...I don't think Vaughn could make it all the way over from LF.

On a side note, I remember after Matt had his monster game in KC someone went into the Wickipedia entry for the Royals and changed their Owner to Matt Davidson.

The TLR Manager Thread
This was incredibly bad timing for this situation. A game that started in the morning, followed by an off day allowed this whole situation to stew. If we would have had a game yesterday we would have had the opportunity to move on somewhat. Instead we got 41 pages of TLR getting roasted over this....roasting that is 100% deserved in my opinion but he is not getting fired over this or most likely anything else so gotta try to move on and hope this team can overcome their injuries. Gotta start that by taking this series against KC.

Holy crap. That is an awful inning. I think I played 2B for an inning like that in pony league. Noone could throw a damn strike. Sounds like that inning lasted longer than one of Buehrle's complete games.

Albert Pujols
I just remember him hitting the ball so weakly when he made contact.

It's like a bad infomercial...included is a lifetime supply of DH...wait there's more....act now and get another future Hall of Famer.

He can't be worse than that guy in the Sox uniform who was claiming to be Manny Ramirez a few years back.

I was happy when they fired him the first time. I did not like the hire this time but was convinced it would be OK because he was putting together a good staff to surround him. If he is going to ignore that staff to prevent him from screw ups, that is a problem.

I also haven't heard him in years but his shtick that always bugged me was when a fan would call in and use the word We when describing the Sox, Bulls, Bears whatever and he would mercilessly rip them because they were not part of that organization. He came off as an insufferable prick then and I'm sure he still does now.

I would say that his signature moment was calling for someone from the bullpen when noone had been warming up. Today was worse than that in my opinion but that could be just the law of recency affecting my judgement.

I only learned last night that if a guy catches a foul ball and his momentum takes him into the dugout, the baserunners advance....but Benetti immediately knew that rule. My point is with a Major League ballclub, you better have someone in that dugout that knows the damn rules and will alert the manager of said rules.
