I suggest someone starts a Pito is old and sucks now thread....that'll get him going. Until I see otherwise, I expect Jose to heat up with the weather. He has earned some patience.

I remember thinking it was some sort of joke that Giolito had gone to his HS pitching coach to get fixed....whatever Katz has done with Carlos....amazing job!!

Comeback Player of the Year
How about giving Hard Carl a comeback player of the month for April. That leaves the yearly prize for Mancini. Come to think of it, Rodon could get pitcher of the month couldn't he?

Is Rodon no longer #5?

I am currently on hold with my cable company to see if I can get any refund on my NBS Sports Chicago based on that lineup for Game 1.

I agree...stretching is very important when you have back issues.

1998 Albert Belle
Reading up more on Belle's career...I had completely forgotten that he had sent his Cleveland teammate Jason Grimsley to climb through a ceiling panel to replace the corked bat that was in the umpires room. Unless I am remembering wrong, they were playing the Sox when that happened.

1998 Albert Belle
I think the only guy I saw live at Comiskey where the ball came off the bat faster was Jim Rice. Belle had a monster year and then we dodged a bullet by him opting out the rest of that contract.

My wife would've turned right back around and walked out in that case. Another John Cusack thing...I was at a Sox game he was at and when they put his picture on the Jumbotron...well let's just say Lightfoot and Pritzker got a standing ovation in comparison ?

Congrats to Nate Jones/Carson Fulmer, back in big leagues
I remember one of the baseball national writers years ago on White Sox weekly say that he thought Fulmer would be the White Sox closer when they were ready to contend....this was when Carson was still a starting pitcher...obviously that expert had no crystal ball there or it was a broken Magic 8 ball.

I checked out the Website for Chicago Cut and saw they had a celebrity sighting link with people who had dined there. 2 thoughts...1. Did John Cusack really wear a beanie hat to a nice dinner place?...2. Ricky was right in saying Nicky Delmonico had Hollywood good looks but I wouldn't have said he was the White Sox 3B.

In that case I'm not too concerned ?

Glad you had a nice dinner and walk. Sounds perfect. Plus you didn't have to miss the now possibly FBI surveillanced Game Thread.

Grandal Vs. McCann
All good examples, thanks for the feedback. I did think about Danks as a long term bad taste for Jerry as well.
-
Grandal Vs. McCann
Reminds me of what I heard someone say about the unlikability of Royce Clayton with his teammates....it was said that the Sox replaced a guy who would run through a wall for his teammates with Clayton, a guy who would ask who put the wall there in the first place. But I can't remember who it was Clayton replaced.

Grandal Vs. McCann
Do you think Caulfield that the Navarro contract has had a long reaching effect at all on Reinsdorf being willing to shell out for free agent starting pitchers?
-
Grandal Vs. McCann
Eh, I'd personally go with Jaime Navarro as the worst free agent signing.

I see you couldn't stay away from the game thread, even if it is just pregame. Just kidding. Have a good anniversary!!
