  1. Glad you had a nice dinner and walk. Sounds perfect. Plus you didn't have to miss the now possibly FBI surveillanced Game Thread.
  2. Now you are talking.
  3. All good examples, thanks for the feedback. I did think about Danks as a long term bad taste for Jerry as well.
  4. Reminds me of what I heard someone say about the unlikability of Royce Clayton with his teammates....it was said that the Sox replaced a guy who would run through a wall for his teammates with Clayton, a guy who would ask who put the wall there in the first place. But I can't remember who it was Clayton replaced.
  5. Do you think Caulfield that the Navarro contract has had a long reaching effect at all on Reinsdorf being willing to shell out for free agent starting pitchers?
  6. Eh, I'd personally go with Jaime Navarro as the worst free agent signing.
  7. It's Mouton and you know it!!! Don't be such a hater, Ray!!!
  8. I see you couldn't stay away from the game thread, even if it is just pregame. Just kidding. Have a good anniversary!!
  9. Boy, miss a game thread, miss a lot. I'll be sure to stop in tonight if they play.
  10. Haha, you mentioned one of the most perplexing favorite players of all time for my Dad...he loved Damaso Marte. My folks lived close enough to Sox Park that people would park by them and take the bus or walk to the park. My nephews would tell me stories of them coming back to the car after a tough loss and would be greeted by my Dad with a typical refrain of "Why did they take Marte out!!!" So to sum up...Nellie Fox, Billy Pierce, and Damaso Marte...all with prominent places in my Dad's Sox Hall of Favorites
  11. Always kinda liked Nate for some reason...good luck to him.
  12. Dustin Hermanson was really good before Jenks became the closer in 2005. Also, I rewatched Moneyball recently and the highlights they showed of Billy Koch during the long winning streak nearly made me ill.
  13. His futures so bright I gotta wear shades.
  14. I'm grabbing Jake Lamb before anyone else does.
  15. A game without Robert is like a day without sunshine.
  16. I think these guys are deliberately calling bad games hoping that someone calls them out in a slanderous manner....I call it the Country Joe West effect.
  17. I think what alot of us wanted was a pesky hitter who would drive opposing pitchers nuts and turn over the lineup. He's been doing that. His lack of swing and miss against major league pitching has been quite impressive to me.
  18. I really thought the Sox were gonna dangle Kopech for a trade this last offseason...and maybe they did. I'm sure glad I was wrong.
  19. Good point. Boy that sure was an awful week and a half of baseball after clinching though...not counting Giolito's playoff start which to me really announced that he was the real deal
  20. I guess dropping from the #1 seed to #7 seed in a week makes it feel like they barely squeaked in.
  21. Remind me never to hire you as a defense attorney....just kidding ?
  22. Sorry to be a little enthusiastic for a guy who has worked hard on his defense and is making a helluva lot more contact than he used to. Obviously he was not the star but he had a nice game.
  23. The people at fangraphs need to sit themselves down and actually watch a baseball game sometimes if that is their opinion.
  24. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Grandal has always been a very streaky hitter in his career. I'm pretty sure he will go on at least a couple tears where we will be very happy with his offensive production. At least he has been getting on base, although not hitting, early this season. I'm more concerned with his defense this year. It is not gold glove caliber to say the least.
