  1. Washington makes the kick and is up 3 with 3 seconds left. Epic fail by USC.
  2. Washington with a FG attempt to win the game.
  3. USC is in trouble, tied 13-13 with Washington late in the 4th quarter. Their running game is awesome but they have gotten awful QB play today from Corp and Carroll has been really conservative with his play calling this year.
  4. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 11:16 PM) there's no one on that bench that excites meet to see, with the possible exception of flowers. But he doesn't deserve playing time over AJ, who's earned it and then some. I wish mitchell was on the bench. That I'd like to see. DH Flowers or play him at 1B if you don't want to take AJ out of the order. Plus you can let AJ DH a couple of games and play Flowers at catcher. There is no reason not to play him everyday for the remainder of the season.
  5. Illinois LB Martez Wilson out for the year
  6. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 17, 2009 -> 11:49 AM) I swear to god, some of you guys have never played the game of baseball. I don't care what some dweeb from Stanford has calculated. Sure, the new wave of stats have become a great way to further evaluate players and a great way to try to determine who are the best players in the league by factoring in stadiums, etc. However, sometimes all you need is an extra run, not 3 or 4 and while the stats may show that bunting is going to hinder run production, the way it does it is by potentially preventing the big-inning, but sometimes you just need a f***ing run, not a big inning. If the Sox got a few extra runs, we'd have seen there 1 run record swing drastically the other way and that starts with playing good fundamental baseball. There is such a thing as a productive out and the Sox are one of the worse teams I've seen in a long time at doing that. And part of fundamentals is good defense and I think we all know the Sox have sucked awfully at that all season. You find a way to improve the defense and get the club to make more productive outs as opposed to useless outs and we are talking about a 2010 team that should content for a World Series. And I'll call whomever I want a jackass. I'm one of the most behaved posters on this site and when people get too far away from the way the game was meant to be played and start thinking it really is just fantasy baseball, than I'm going to step up and speak up. Note: I'm also the biggest supporter of the hit and run possible and if the Sox get a team of guys that can handle the bat this could turn into a huge benefit. You essentially open up a massive hole every time you do a hit and run and a guy that can handle the bat well can essentially sky-rocket his batting average in that situation. Bunting can slightly increase your chance of scoring one run but also decreases your chances of scoring any runs and greatly reduces your run expectation. I don't think people have a problem playing for a single run late in games but doing it early in games is dumb. You can call me a jackass all you want but that is fact.
  7. Great idea, giving up outs when a lineup is already struggling to produce runs. Bunting before the 7th inning unless a pitcher or a guy like Lillibridge is up is stupid.
  8. Why doesn't the NFL just put the QBs in red shirts and make it two hand touch?
  9. QUOTE (The Bones @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 06:36 PM) What are you talking about?! ND was supposed to roll over Michigan and into the National Championship game. Lou Holtz told me so. ^^^This. When Charlie Weis actually beats a real team in his tenure at ND then maybe I'll buy into the hype.
  10. Michigan looked surprisingly solid on O today but ND is shockingly overrated.
  11. Michigan looks a lot better than I expected them to this year. Forcier looks like the real deal.
  12. Brandon Graham is a monster for Michigan, he is being held on every play.
  13. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 04:10 PM) We just give up too many big plays. I like Forcier as a frosh. By the time is an upperclassmen, he should be VERY good. It's close at half and we get ball first, so we'll see what adjustments we can make. Don't mean to say "we", but live with it. =P They need to find a way to get some pressure on Clausen. He is sitting back there with all day to throw and just throwing jump balls to Floyd who will go up and get it every time. That guy is unreal, might be the best WR in the country.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 04:09 PM) The WWL and other media outlets claim the SEC is 10 times better than every other league in college football on a yearly basis, but in 2009, they might actually have a case. It isn't like the SEC has looked great so far. Georgia lost pretty big to Ok St. and LSU struggled with a Washington team that didn't win a game last year.
  15. That didn't last long for Wyoming, Texas goes down and scores a go ahead touchdown just before half time in like 40 seconds.
  16. Big 12 is currently being absolutely owned btw. Houston beating Ok St. 24-7 and Wyoming is beating Texas 10-6 both almost at halftime. Both probably come back to win but wow is that pathetic.
  17. Notre Dame's offensive line is dominating this game. Clausen has an absurd amount of time to throw every time he drops back. Also Cissoko sucks.
  18. Jordan is easily the greatest player of all time and by far the best player I have seen play basketball (sorry Kobe and Lebron but you aren't even close) as well as by far my favorite basketball player of all time but the guy is an asshole. And comparing his speech to the other inductees just reminds everyone of that fact.
  19. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Sep 11, 2009 -> 06:44 PM) Have John Stockton or Jerry Sloan gone yet? I'm just tuning in. Stockton went
  20. Anyone watching the NBA HoF ceremony right now? David Robinson is one of the all time class acts. Its too bad there aren't more athletes, and people in general that are like him.
  21. It amazes me how many people who know nothing about baseball post on this board.
  22. Illinois needs a new coaching staff. Just unbelievably poorly coached.
