He did give you the reason. He wouldn't spot his pitches. They were always over the heart of the plate resulting in him being hit very very hard. That hasn't really been the case tonight.
Talk about overrated. What has Shockey done? 2 TDs last year and some huge drops in the playoffs against the 49ers. This year 5 Rec for 44 Yds and 1 TD. If it wasn't for his attitude no one would talk about the guy as a star. If your gonna talk trash you better back it up and he sure hasn't thus far in his career.
According to sportsline he has thrown 84 pitches through 5 innings. 2 more sounds about right. And thats only if he gets through the 6th with no trouble.
I prefer the lower level but I actually like it in the upper deck. When you start getting past about the 14th row it gets a little high but besides that I feel their pretty good seats. The one knock I have on sitting in the upper deck is that you can't check out the main concourse. This isn't a big deal during the game but prior to it I usually like to hang out there.
Actually Garland has been very steady for an extended period of time. He has six straight quality starts and hasn't allowed more than 4 earned runs in a game since June 4th.
This is kind of off topic, but what the hell happened to Woody Williams. 8 runs today in 3 2/3 innings pitched and has pitched poorly for a while now. Looks like La Russa really overworked him early in the year.
