I love the coffee mugs. "No American Coffee has ever gone in this mug ever!" Funny how he and Ari Fleischer have never been seen in the same place, haha

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/artic...-2003Apr15.html And here is a brilliant move by Mr. O'Reilly. Members of the "Best Men," as the sixth-to-eighth-grade boys in the program are called, were delayed getting onstage to perform a lip-synced rendition of the Four Tops standard "Reach Out (I'll Be There)." O'Reilly ad-libbed: "Does anyone know where the Best Men are? I hope they're not in the parking lot stealing our hubcaps." And there is only two ways you can support the President. 1) You hate democratic values, free speech, etc. or 2) You have been duped and not seen the facts of what he has done.

Bravo SI..... Bra-f***in'-vo! There is a difference between going after individual terrorists who have attacked us and going after a sovereign nation that has not done anything to us. I guess that fact is lost on SI.

CK, Baggs...Have you heard the song "Jenna Bush Army" by Nerf Herder? If not check it out. It's a funnier than hell song about Jenna Bush and how the lead singer thinks she is so hot, haha.

The military doesn't like something that is critical of them? Really? You serious? So because they didn't kiss the Bush ass and covered actual news outside of the looting going on in Baghdad, they aren't a reliable news source. Last time I checked, FOX News was admittedly "slanted and biased". Also, not to change the subject but this commercial I just saw on TV brought this idea to my head. In that Michael Moore thread a while ago, you were all angry that he was capitalizing on Columbine. What about all the country singers that are making songs about 9/11 and selling tons of records? Aren't they harbingers of human sorrow as well? Using your logic, they are parading human tragedy to sell records and make money. If you are disgusted at Moore for his film, then be disgusted at all these "patriotic" artists who are making millions from selling records capitalizing on the tragic events of 9/11. By the way, we had to watch Roger and Me in Sociology today. There is a part where this woman skins a bunny to eat it. The entire class cringed in horror of watching the bunny get skinned for meat and they were all yelling "EWWWW". Less than 5 minutes later in the movie, there is a scene where the cops confont a black man with a gun and he gets shot at point blank range. Nobody in the class flinched at all...except for me at the complete inhumanity of the class.

CK, a lot of this is backed up by factual information. Look at the Terrorism 2000 Report, the NORAD time logs, etc.

I went to high school with Honel. He was a pretty badass pitcher in high school I can't wait to see what he's developing into...that and he's a North Side convert now, haha.

Baggs, I thought you would be all over this thread? Where are you at? By the way, ISU be ready for UIUC Student Peace Action tomorrow afternoon. ISU Peace Action is having a protest...and I got asked to write a speech. They are giving me a microphone. Could prove to be interesting. Support the Troops, bring them home! :fyou George W.!

Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake, Jerry Springer...are these the bastions of good culture in America? This just promotes the stereotype of Americans being trailer trash, an idea that gets shipped everywhere. Just like we are being programmed that the French are "cheese eating surrender monkeys". We advertise our culture as "hip", "edgy" etc. with the Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, etc. etc. etc. And I will be goddamned if our culture is going to be known in foreign lands for chairs being thrown at each other, incredibly s***ty pop-dance "music", and lame talk show bulls***. Come on, there are a distinct number of our population that don't even know when WORLD WAR II took place! The United States has some serious problems that need to get addressed.

NY Times is not what I would call liberal. MSNBC is not liberal (It's owned by Microsoft and General Electric) These companies get editorial control over the news that goes on the air. GE also owns a weapons manufacturer who creates the guidance tips for US missiles. I really doubt they will hurt sales by putting things critical of Bush and the war on air. Hell, 1549, I even say "f***ing Americans" when I see our imperialism, our government being asshats (i.e. Alaska senator looking to ask cops & firefighters to forego their overtime pay), our s***ty TV shows, our really poor culture and over advertising to make that culture look good. I watch Bill O'Reilly a lot, keep myself up to date with the writings of Dinesh D'Souza, read plenty of CNN and what stories they are breaking, etc. Then compare that with the Guardian, the BBC, etc. I really wouldn't put Rush Limbaugh as one of the flagship members of the right though. He really takes down the legitimacy in your cause. The guy, like O'Reilly has been nailed a lot for turning off the volume to not let people get in counter arguments etc. If you are going to be an educated member of the right or left, don't listen to Limbaugh.

WOOHOO FOR CREDE! Let's tie this game Frank!

http://www.state.gov/g/drl/rls/hrrpt/2002/ If we are going after every country that abuses human rights, we got some work ahead of us.

Yes, as much as I want to praise Esteban for being an excellent pitcher and 2 very excellent outings, I am reserved about it because it was the Tigers.

I have been talking baseball as well HSC. I can multitask.

What happens when the story is broken in the US media? You gonna stick your head in the sand for that one too?
-
And admittedly biased and slanted FOX News is any better? Look at the 6 corporations that own TV stations and newspapers. Then tell me if our news is diversified and objective.

even mohammed al-douri has given up making excuses for saddam and tonight said that the united states is good..the american people are decent..and he hopes that iraq and the US can have a better relationship now that saddam is gone....the only one left is you People aren't really in a position to critique a government when it's tanks are rolling through your cities.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,276...,935271,00.html Let's oust Saddam's regime to use his old police force etc. and let them keep power. What a great idea!
-
http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,276...,935251,00.html Hans Blix really condemns the Bush regime for their shenanigans. http://www.guardian.co.uk/Iraq/Story/0,276...,935304,00.html Who needs unbiased weapons inspectors that have to answer to people that could be criticial of the US? Obviously not the UK and US. Can we say getting desperate?
