We release our twice-annual Top White Sox Prospects list in two parts. The first article is a "teaser" of sorts, listing the names of prospects ranked 16th-30th with detailed capsules on each (and links to their profiles). The second is the full Top 30, with capsules on 1-15, as well as a list of players who just missed the Top 30.

 

Here is the 16-30 list, hot off the press.

 

What do you think? Who were we too high or too low on? Who do you think is in the Top 15?

 

It would probably just be easier to label every prospect not inside our top 7 or 8 in the same category. None are any better than C level prospects and we'll be lucky to get 1 everyday player or SP out of the bunch.

 

Good work as usual by future sox tho...no discredit towards the article, just more towards the state of the system.

It is really great to see the Latin players starting to push up that list. There are definitely some helium balloons in that bunch. Despite the meme about not overspending there, this team is getting talent into system via the July 2 signings.

Also, reducing the back half of the list to simply "C" prospects is missing key differentiation, particularly in floor and ceiling.

 

Nice list Matt. IMO, I might have Peter and Zavala a tad higher, but otherwise I tend to agree with your rankings. With Anderson gone now, I think my top 15 would look like:

Two of your names didn't make the Top 30, with two others in the T15 you didn't mention. I won't say which.

 

Several bullpen arms in that back half on the way (finally) after a pretty big dearth the last few years. Clark/Cooper/Danish should provide a nice boost to depth.

That list is pretty depressing when you consider how much some of those prospects have fallen this season. The top half of the list should be a lot more exciting with the 2016 draftees in there. Regardless, I'm still not sure how Buddy Bell has his job. For a while you could argue there was a serious talent issue, but it's clear as night and day that we have an issue on the player development side.

I'm guessing that Davidson and Alfaro aren't in the top 30. I would imagine that Delmonico is. I hope Curbelo is the last name because leaving him out of the top 30 is nuts. Keith Law had him #49 in the entire draft and he was highly regarded by others as well.

I think those are the names I would have off too. I think Alfaro has a chance to be pretty good, but he's still too far away. Not sure what to make of Curbelo yet.
