Good post. I know you guys like Eddy, but Adam Engel is a no-brainer for me here. He is a freak athlete and has extremely loud tools who has shown he is capable of putting it all together in short bursts (2015 AFL MVP). The White Sox played with his pre-swing mechanics last season and it kind of set his production back, but he has an extremely high ceiling if it clicks for him.

My interview with video is below if you want to check it out.

How is his defense? Would he be a good replacement for Eaton?

Matt Cooper is another guy who intrigues me.

Without going to baseball reference, I believe Brian Clark has given up two HRs his entire professional career. Dude just gets guys out.

You're right. 2 in 194 innings.

Does Alvarez have a legit shot at getting some ML PT this year?

By all accounts, Engel plays a plus center. If he bat doesn't develop, he is a safe 4th outfielder by based on his defense.

Matt Cooper is a interesting guy, probably more of a reliever to me, but could be a useful one.

I'm interested in this too. Hoping September at least. I assume Jake Peter is above him on org chart right now.

Is there any chance Mason Robbins gets a shot? If he mashes AA and AAA pitching for most of the year, maybe a September callup?

He's enigmatic, he may get a shot but likely not in 2017. 2018 is his best shot, probably. He has a pretty odd set of skills and gaps, but his gaps are eminently fixable, which makes him a potential pop-up candidate in 2017. I wrote a bit about him once.

Thats a tough one. The White Sox have a whole mess of middle infield guys (Anderson, Sanchez, Lawrie, Saladino, Peter, Moncada, Alvarez, DeMichele) who are all at the major league level or AAA and only so many spots.

I would love to see Davidson get a full season trial. If the defense has improved as advertised, perhaps at 3B or 1B/DH at the very least. Spin the wheel and hope he's a Frazier lite with 30 homers, and the requisite low average and lots of Ks of course. He'll have a little value at that point and it gives us options.
