The Hawks can use LTIR for Marian Hossa this year.

I didn't realize that there was even a concern that the NHL would allow it, but good to see that it went through.

Apparently Rozsivol is also going on to LTIR, giving the Hawks almost $6 million to play with.

And Jordin Tootoo surprisingly, not that he was gonna contribute at all.

The Hawks have started their daily salary cap maneuvering though to save every dollar. DeBrincat and Forsling were optioned to Rockford yesterday, but will be back in Chicago for opening night tomorrow.

Supposedly there was a stink rose about the Hawks doing it by someone else in the league, so they did a pretty deep investigation. There was some amount of thought it would be disallowed.

It was kind of odd, and very convenient for the Blackhawks. I know when I first heard it, I was a bit skeptical (still am) and if it were another team, I would have probably laughed about it.

Compared to some of the other LTIR situations in the league, it isn't too crazy. And I'm sure there is a legit doctor diagnosis somewhere.

It sounds well documented, and that is probably why it went through.

Connor McDavid is kinda good.

PSA: Free NHL Center Ice this week

Do I have to call my cable provider to activate it?

It's a free preview so I don't think so. I have Comcast, I just turned on one of the Center Ice channels and it was playing.

Kaner with some highlight reel passes tonight, 3-0 already in the first. No no Niemi

Have yourself a night Kaner!

no you don't...just go to your PPV channels.

Oh no. Bad knee injury for Schmaltz
