Jason Benetti's commentary during Anderson vs. Royals

Featured Replies

There's a lot of downtime in a baseball game, and Benetti does a good job of filling that time.  He can get a bit silly at times, but he's getting better about asking Stone questions to engage a conversation.  Hawk got really bad toward the end with leaving the dead air out there, especially when the team was playing bad.

My main gripe with Benetti used to be that he would ask questions too often, to the point where he was rarely ever saying anything of value. I was told by some on here that he would eventually tone that down, and sure enough, he's now asking questions at (in my opinion) more appropriate times while adding his own thoughts as well.

At the end of the day, his job is to describe the action. It's stones job to provide analysis.

Hawk made it obvious he was too good for bad baseball. Hawk's ego was so high he felt he was doing the club a favor broadcasting their games. At least it's the way I saw it. He was OK with Wimpy on the 2-3 games a year but really got bad with Stoney. Like he hated him or something.

Now ... Stone remains a gem. Benetti is hugely awesome. Great announcing.
