That's because theo has never figured how to draft or develop pitchers he had to buy them. The Sox shouldn't be in that position with having traded for the pitchers to lead the staff and fill in with FA that dont need a 7-10 year deal.

Of course “you can beat the yankees” without the big FA’s.  It may never be likely, defined as greater than 50% probability, but it is definitely possible.  It’s baseball, and part of the beauty is the uncertainty.
