FS: A Brave New World: The White Sox Enter the Realm of Biomechanics

This was great. Nice to see the sox open up a bit on this. Did not realize where this guy came from. We heard from Sarris that the previously sent around list of teams and their # of analytics employees was misleading due to some teams use of vendors.

Sox poaching a top guy from their vendor that made wearables is very reassuring. Getz definitely going to have a line to walk with getting buy-in, but he's certainly known what needed to be done, we just have to hope it's fast enough to take advantage and give an edge soon.

I included the section on Matt Lisle because there was a lack of "buy in" last year. This is the reason for the change though IMO. Everett Teaford and Ben Broussard will both work closely with Hansen. Ryan Johansen is the assistant hitting coordinator. Multiple others have biomechanics experience. Mike Shirley uses it in scouting too. The Sox might be behind the great orgs still but at least they've recognized it.

This was a really good read.  Nice to see the org trying to get ahead of the curve with analytics & player development.

Sox need to get on the curve before they can get ahead, but yes, nice to see more effort

It’s great that we are starting to catch up to the big boys.

Definitely a good thing they are catching up albeit 2 years earlier when the system was at it's highest point would have been better of course.

But better late than never.

Seriously. You can definitely argue they are still behind the 8 ball, but at least they have finally "entered the race track" sort of speak.
