Jace Fry Tendered

I like Fry....when he throws strikes that is

Cheap deal, worth the dart throw with Fry if he can actually locate 40% of the time even....

It still blows my mind how much professional athletes make. We always talk about it in terms of millions...and then you look at a guy like Jace Fry who most people don't know who he is, outside of the Chicago White Sox, and he's set to make almost $900,000. For one year. Lol.

Welcome to the free world where you shouldn't be surprised what any athlete makes, and if you can do better than Jace, step up to the bump and earn it.  I stopped being surprised about what people make when I read a long time ago that the 4 actors in Friends each made 1 million dollars per episode.  Think about that my friend before being surprised at the 900,000 a major league relief pitcher earns for a year.

The amount of work these guys put in is insane, and they're highly specialized high skill athletes backed by a very strong union. It's no surprise they make so much.

I'm not saying I can do better than him, nor am I saying he should not be making that much. Was simply making an observation that it blows my mind. Thanks for assuming though, I do appreciate it.

I agree that they are highly specialized and the work they put in is basically all year, not just for 7-8 months. I don't understand why I can't be surprised though, or better yet, why you feel the need to tell me I shouldn't be surprised by it. We all (myself included) talk about 7 figures like it's a normal thing...it most certainly is not normal. Hence why it just struck me when I actually thought about how much money that is.

No one's telling you you can't be surprised. I will tell you to not take this so personally, though.
