The Say Sorry to Rick Hahn Thread

Before summoning security,  a prospective employer would shake their head at Hahn and utter:

"Shields for FTJR ?"

And that's that.

In all fairness, it was RHP Erik Johnson and Tatis, Jr.    All to save a boatload of money (in JR's estimation at the time) that doesn't quite add up into the hundreds of millions of dollars today.

Caulfield, easily one of the worst posts in Soxtalk history right here.

  • Bah…..apologize? He should apologize to us for how long we’ve been waiting and nothing has really been accomplished yet. It’s still early in the season but “we” should apologize? That’s ridiculous.

  • Rick Hahn was named GM in late October, 2012. He was assistant GM beginning in 2002. But just looking at his run as “the guy”.....he didn’t have a winning season in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017,

Right now Rick is facing some huge decisions. Can this season be saved or not? His credibility is on the line right now. And does he have the freedom to make some big moves if he wants to go in that direction?

I thought the Sox were talking about how once fans were back in the stands, and there was more certainty, they'd have some money to spend. Welp! That time has come

I mean it's not that cut and dry.  There is very little evidence to support the conclusion Hahn was running the club until about 2016-17 when the rebuild started.  I've said it many times he should have just resigned if he was being overrode on a full rebuild but I'm happy he stayed.  Frankly Hahn is proving he's a good GM now that JR and KW are mostly out of his way.

Hahn is an excellent GM/VP thanks to Kenny Williams out of the picture of any major decisions. However unfortunately,  Reinsdorf shoving LaRussa down Hahn's throat was simply wrong on so many ownership and leadership levels.

Weren't most people upset or at least indifferent regarding the Eaton signing? He's been pretty underwhelming so far. Don't think there would be much crow to be eaten there.

Right now the only good thing about Eaton is Hahn was able to trade him away for Giolito, Lopez and Dunning. Giolito is a keeper, Dunning is the main reason we were able to trade for Lynn and Lopez is going to hopefully work out his pitching problems at Triple A Charlotte starting this week. Whether Lopez ever turns it around or not, we definitely won that trade with the Washington Nationals.

He’s already missing 2-3 weeks with a corneal problem causing dizziness/blurred vision.

Have they had him throw with the blurred vision to see if it has improved his control?

Might as well try throwing everything this year but the kitchen sink, alas...no is the answer.

This is the most egregious, but there were many other ridiculous moves.  And while he's done little that was overtly damaging during the rebuild, the org. should be teeming in depth after all this, and it isn't.  And he doesn't have the confidence of the owner.

If we could have developed Narvaez like the Brewers so far...we would never have made that Grandal signing.  Or, worst-case, we’d have both McCann and Omar, and invested the savings elsewhere.

His credibility has already been virtually none for multiple years now. There is nothing really else that is "on the line."

The only way we'll find out is if he ever leaves the White Sox.

Probably to do some impressive-sounding SPAC/investment gig related to speculation on Latin American beisbol players.

I think there is if the FO expects fans to believe in this rebuild.
