WHAT HAPPENED TO RAUCH, AND WHATS GOING ON WITH ADKINS COTTS AND? MUNOZ?

You got that Caps Lock in lockdown tonight don't ya, Ish?

Jon Rauch is just finishing his 1st real year post-surgery....by the time 2004 ST rolls around, we may be able to get a better idea as to where Jon stands in his progress.

Yeah I do have the CAPS LOCK down tonight. It just makes me angry to think about the long wait ahead untill spring training.

SWEET!!! I WISH I WOULDA KNOWN THAT BEFORE!! I MADE TOO MANY POSTS ALREADY IN NORMAL KEYBOARD ETTIQUETTE, SILLY ME.

Cerb, where do you find this stuff?

Rauch will be back. I really get the feeling that he will break out next year.

I was thinking about it last night, BASEBALL ISNT EVEN OVER YET, and it seems like the Sox havent played in like 3 mounths. Its going to be a LONGGGG winter, but hopfully KW gives us something to talk about. :headbang

It's because it was such a tough loss this year. The division should have been won by the Sox...period. However, we did what the Cubs did this year in the playoffs.....only we did it in the regular season.

Munoz struggled this year

Both Adkins and Cotts made their debuts for the White Sox this year.

I wouldn't say Munoz struggled this year. He was bombed early in the year very badly. From then on he was very effective, and with his awesome curveball the little guy could be up with the big club as soon as next year.

I just hope that some of our "good young pitchers" come through ..... for a change.

The Sox need to keep Rausch in the mix. I think it has been said before that a pitcher needs at least 2 years to recover from an arm injury. Jon started to really come around in the 2nd half at Charlotte. Maybe '04 will be his year. Cotts probably at AAA is my guess and Adkins is a candidate for a spot in the rotation. I just wonder where Danny Wright ends up considering '03 was basically a lost year for him.

It's easy to see why he got hammered early. He had to of been just burnt out. I know he threw last year(obviously), and then I think he threw AFL( ) and he threw winter ball too I believe....that would burn ANYONE out.

Exactly. After the first month of last season I think his ERA was in the low 3's. I don't have the splits off hand but I know Rex posted them a long time ago and it was too that extent. To do that at 21 in AAA, considering what a pitchers park Charlotte is, well to say the least its an impressive feat.

As far as Rauch, this is his make it or break it year. If he doesn't come through this year, his only shot will be with another organization.

I don't remember the splits either, but you are correct in that his numbers were good after that. I do know in his first 4 appearances, he got shelled three times, giving up a total of 12 earned runs, I believe. It was really ugly.

On a side note, he did not pitch in the Arizona Fall League, but he did pitch in Winter Ball. He was both the rookie of the year and the pitcher of the year in, I believe, the Dominican Winter League.

You sure Rex, for some reason I thought he pitched in both. Probably confusing him with Sanders who I know pitched in Winter ball and dominated there.

Majewski, Sanders and Hummel all did well in winterball. Who was the other Sox rep last year?

Stewart pitched very well in the AFL. Not sure who the 5th was off the top of my head. Actually, I do. It was Joe Valentine. He hadn't been traded yet, had he?

Thats exactly right. Valentine ended up getting held out for injury concerns (Unless they already knew they were going to deal him) but he struggled in his like 6 apperances.

Can't believe I forgot Stewie, he lit it up with Sanders and Majew.
