Kath ended up 2-3 with 2bb and 1k.  Montgomery was 3-5. Otherwise, not much. Kanny loses 7-6.

Sosa 2-3 with a HR. 
Colas 1-4 with a triple.

It sure would be nice to see Sosa against AAA pitching to get more of an idea if he can help the team this year or not. Morel on the Cubs transitioning so well going straight from AA has me wondering if Sosa could do the same.

To be fair, I believe Morel was repeating AA.

And Sosa basically has no track record of being good prior to this, so I would worry about how much jumping him up too quickly might stunt his development. It's definitely not a perfect comparison, you're right.

Semien is one of my favorite Sox prospects of all time.  I can see the similarity.  Both play 3 positions. Both have good bat to ball skills. Semien was Southern League MVP and Sosa is trending that way. One difference, and this surprises me, Sosa is walking more.

I disagree. While he has broken out this season and is really mashing, If you look at his past performance he has always held his own at every level while being younger than the competition.  
Playing well against older competition tends to bode well for future success. 
 

that being said, what he’s been able to do so far as a 22year old in Birmingham has been special.

$2 million isn’t very much money though. If he’s a big leaguer at all, it’s a great signing. 

I lot of these guys really need to minimize the hacking.  I don't know how the org approaches it in instruction or in signing/drafting players, but it's not a good sign for major league success..
