Pretty sure if they were absolutely in love with him after watching firsthand they wouldn't have let him go to bring up Gavin Williams, with Triston McKenzie already out another 4-6 weeks and possibly the entire season. In bullpens, guys can have success in short stints even if they’re not very good. Jimmy Lambert had a 3.26 ERA in 42 innings last year.
