Despite the granny, W-S lost because of three unearned runs last night then 4 walks as soon as the game resumed. Gosswein is not going to make it.

Montgomery 3 BBS on game 2

Birmingham is leading 13-1, another relatively good start for Thompson, but once again at various times he loses all ability to throw strikes. 4 walks in one inning led to their run and now he's just walked the first 2 guys in the 6th. 6 bb in 5IP is not going to cut it.

Adisyn Coffey gets out of it with minimal damage in his AA debut. 13-2 now. Thompson 5IP 3H 2R 2ER 6bb 4K, honestly should have been worse.

I was wondering if Mason Adams would get a start of his own after he didn't piggyback Schultz yesterday...

The answer is yes. 5IP, 2R (1ER), 5K, 2H, 0BB.

BP doesn't hold the lead though.

Nice to see Ramos with a HR.

When he makes it to the majors, Montgomery will be one of the few Sox players I can recall maybe since Frank Thomas, that understands the value of being patient and working the count in order to get a walk, even though he didn't get a hit. He currently has an OBP of .575. Plus he is a lefty bat!
