for a team to not hire a manager during the MLB playoffs, so that it doesn’t take away from the games being played?   if that’s still the case we are talking November before we know who the next manager is.

The only good thing is when you just make an incestuous hire with zero external search and no interviews it makes the entire process way quicker.  #glasshalffull

I thought it was they didn’t want you to do it on a day a game is happening. So even in that case you are a couple weeks out at the earliest.

Let's not exclude possible firings in Nov.

With this fucked up owner he might just hire the janitor because he liked the way he smiled at him.   I expect Grady to get the job just be cause thats how we do things here.

I am expecting Grady as well.  No legit manager would want to come here and Grady will be cheap.  They can also sell him as a former player and young manager that can relate with the young Sox players.

Can you do a thorough interview of a managerial candidate, when he’s coaching his team in the playoffs?   I’m really not interested in the Sox hiring the bench coach of the Reds. The guy for the Dodgers sounded pretty good to me. Hope they give him a long look which may require the playoffs to be over.

The next manager will lose his job and 200 games by 2026. He's being hired to be fired.
