I can almost guarantee that not only does Gallo make the team he inexplicably steals ABs from Vaughn, who we should be giving every single PA to try and figure it the hell out.

I thought he would make the team on his name (supposed power), the fact that the Sox have loved him in the past, and that this is the first offseason he didn’t cost $5 million.  Music to the Sox cheap ears.  Guess we’ll find out.

Another 0-2 with 2K for Amaya

Just play Maton in spring...or Gray.

This lineup today is hopeless.  Bad enough to make Andre Lipcius at bats almost compelling.

No walks for SFG pitching stands out.

Colas hurt???

Jammed something on the dive.

Had a great catch the inning before against Chapman.

Yaz homer...6-1.

Barry Bonds has appatently been working with Giants hitters in recent days.

Looks like Sox catchers are the only position that's hitting good in their small sample sizes.

Narvaez with 2 hits today. Thaiss , Lee, Hackenberg, Quero and Teel might be around a .300 BA as a group.

The outfield depth is so pathetic

CS by Hackenburg...looks like he might have been safe.

Makes 1985-89 Sox outfields led by Calderon look like Murderer's Row.

In shocking news, Martin Maldonado still doesn't have a hit yet this spring lol.

Twins with an 8 spot.

Leaves Sox and Padres alone at the bottom in runs scored and both probably 3-10 after today.

Doval just massacred Sox...has lost closer's spot but Posey won't trade him yet.

Lots of people wanted to see the younger guys play so they're getting their wish for now.

There's nobody interesting until you get down to Braden and Wolkow.

McCray lighting up Sox on the base paths...50+ steals guy in minors.

Shuster getting crushed...almost another homer.

Casey Schmitt bidding to make Giants.

Happy for Shuster to eat that 3-spot. Dead arm period.

Amaya is starting way too much for my comfort. Drury looks like he's made the team, and they're looking for a spot. Also, Julks/Fletcher/Colas for a 2nd day in a row. DeLoach and Mitchell seem to be out of that tier of starting time. Narvaez also seems to be in serious enough consideration for him to be in a regular rotation with Lee and Thaiss. Maybe they just want competent veteran pitch calling for the starting pitchers in the early games instead of letting Teel/Quero get their exposure with 3 PAs a game.

      2B SS 3B

22-Feb   cubs Meidroth Montgomery Vargas
23-Feb   royals Rojas Amaya Sosa
24-Feb   rangers Gray Meidroth Vargas
25-Feb   rockies Sosa Montgomery Rojas
26-Feb   padres Meidroth Amaya Vargas
27-Feb   guardians Rojas Gray Sosa
28-Feb   angels Baldwin Amaya Vargas
1-Mar   mariners Sosa Meidroth Rojas
2-Mar   dodgers Baldwin Amaya Vargas
3-Mar   athletics Rojas Meidroth Drury
5-Mar ss brewers Rojas Amaya Sosa
5-Mar ss brewers Meidroth Baldwin Vargas
6-Mar   giants Baldwin Amaya Drury

I think it’s more likely because they’re only going to keep one of the veteran types, and they want to figure out which. I don’t think it’s a reflection of a desire to get them all prepared for OD.

But then again, White Sox, who knows.

Has he ever had a live arm period?

Amaya hit one 410 but unfortunately straight away CF.

I almost feel like ST doesn’t matter for him to the Sox and that they will start him in the rotation regardless due to how he pitched last year in 124 innings.  But I could be wrong, or you could be being sarcastic.  😀

Sarcastic. I'd like to see him snap-to and throw a couple convincing innings.

At least Murfee had a solid outing.

Thoughts on this opening day lineup?

- Tauchman RF

- Robert CF

- Vaughn 1B

- Drury DH

- Vargas 3B

- Sosa 2B

- Julks LF

- Lee C

- Amaya SS

Perez pitching

Julks hasn't really picked it up and run with it. I'd say Drury in LF, Rojas at 2B and Sosa at DH.

Drury has the most positional flexibility...well, other than Maton.

Well...at least we have Ishbia and Kevin Durant as fans.
