Saturday at 02:29 PM5 days The Cubs are still playing out of their minds and PCA is going to have a 40/40 season. Only 4.5 games behind the Brewers now. The Cubs were wise to fill their massive rotation holes with Gausman and Holmes, unlike some teams. They won the trade deadline. Edited Saturday at 02:31 PM5 days by WhiteSox2023

Tuesday at 01:39 AM3 days I just watched the Red Sox get awarded a run late in a close game on a play where they forgot how many outs there were...1st and 3rd, one out, routine fly ball to CF.Toronto's CF makes the catch, both runners were off on contact as if there were 2 outs, so TOR throws to first for the inning ending double play. But even though BOTH runners left early without tagging, the ruling is that it became a timing play on the throw to first. Then because the runner at 3rd crossed the plate before the play at 1B, BOS gets the run.The umps apparently told Toronto that they could/should have appealed the "fourth out" at third, but Toronto says the umps had already signaled the inning over so they didn't get the chance to (and also who would think to when you just got outs 2 and 3 anyway).Very weird situation.

However, the MVP Award should be based on performance and the fact is that PCA (8 WAR) has accumulated 1.4 WAR more than Ohtani (6.6) thus far. That’s insane. Hell, Yordan Alvarez is in third and he’s only at 5.6 WAR.Like you said, salary won’t be a factor but PCA is earning $894K this year and $115 million over the next 6 years. That’s insane.
