2024 Reminder

Featured Replies

This is your reminder that just two short years ago the Chicago White Sox homerun leader for the SEASON was Andrew Benitendi…

With 20.

We had three dudes match that before the flipping allstar break.

What other stats can you pull that show just how far this team has come in a 2024 v 2026 fashion?

The 2024 White Sox run differential was -306.

If you remove every single win in the 2026 White Sox season and only count the losses, their run differential is -205.

In 2024, the White Sox had one position player with at least 100 plate appearances (out of 17) who cleared 100 OPS+ or were above average. Another 3 cleared 94.

This season, 9 (of 12) have cleared 100 OPS+, and the three who haven't are Quero, Romo and Acuña.

Four years ago, our home-run leader was Andrew Vaughn with 17 home runs. But under Frank "f*** the home run hit 300" Menechino, we did manage to lead the league in batting average.

It's August 10th with 45 games left to play, and you've already seen more White Sox offense this year than the entirety of the 2024 season:

2024 (162 games):

  • 507 runs scored

  • 133 HRs

  • 395 walks

2026 (117 games):

  • 557 runs scored

  • 152 HRs

  • 401 walks

Meanwhile, the 2026 Sox would have to allow 6.5+ runs/game for the rest of the season to match the 813 total they allowed in 2024.

Entering tonight's games we still lead the AL in RS. We think we've been slumping, and yea we've had some boom or bust, but really it's been good. Need the pitching and defense to pick it up here. Playing some bad offenses should help. Cinci comes in after getting swept and mustering like 15 hits total against the Nats.
