August 15Aug 15 I don’t put much stock into draft year results, personally. They just don’t usually seem to mean much. Bonemer has been so impressive. I was a little worried about the swing and miss earlier this year, but he’s lowered his k rate quite a bit since moving up. I think he’s still likely to whiff a lot in the bigs, but really great year for him.

With that said, I always wondered how often college draftees struggle in their first month in pro ball and then explode when their full season starts?
August 15Aug 15 Really the inverse in every way, but all I think of is the tremendous draft year production of Courtney Hawkins that was followed with extreme disappointment.

August 15Aug 15 I always think its becasue its the first time these guys are hitting with wood bats primarily.
August 15Aug 15 There's always the AFL to panic.Bonemer already played or this will be first year?Carlson could handle it defensively, but probably needs a full healthy High A season to be ready.

August 15Aug 15 Lodise probably needs to be promoted for us to see what he's got. Getting a little old to excite me in high-A. But I'm skeptical of the very low hit, very high walk profile.

But, yea, it would be nice to see more batting average.
