The 24 team was terrible, but was really a 50ish win team. And it's not just bad luck: it was a fluke that so many players had just awful years, even for them. Not much was left to field a team for 2024 but it accelerated the rebuild.
25 was closer to a 70 win team.
So we improve by 15 or so games. Unusual, remarkable, but not historic.

Look, I’ve mentioned this before, I coach above the HS level (not baseball) and analytics are a daily talking point. However, at the end of the day athletics, at any level, is measured is results. If you’re a 41 win baseball team then you’re a 41 win baseball team. There ain’t no putting lipstick on that pig.

Yup. Nobody is saying oh we have a much better RD than Cle we should be at 86 wins not 83. In fact, I believe FG did a study that showed actual record becomes more predictive than Pythag by about 100 games into a season. You are what your record says you are.
