December 5, 200322 yr Well, sort of. His .247 average is unspectacular, but he's walking a ton, and showing a lot of power, resulting in an impressive .902 OPS. If both of those are signs of things to come in Chicago (i.e., increased power and plate discipline), then he's not just a good everyday CFer--he's one of the better ones in the AL.
December 5, 200322 yr Unfortunately, a .247 average would fit right in... Considering he started something like 2-20, I'd say .247 is moving in the right direction.
December 5, 200322 yr The article on Olivo's winterball suggested that Olivo was working on off speed pitches. Maybe Rowand is doing something like that. I like Rowand as our 4th or 5th outfielder. Olivo Winterball Link
December 5, 200322 yr Have anyone even noticed that Aaron Rowand SMOKES left-handed pitching. Let's hope Jeremy Reed/Willie Harris can hit righties.

December 5, 200322 yr Remember, Rowand is playing the freaking Peutro Rican league. I'd expect much more out of Rowand.
