Lightenburg going north, ey

Featured Replies

Sportsnet.ca - The Toronto Blue Jays have signed free-agent RHP Kerry Ligtenberg, Sportsnet has learned.

Ligtenberg was 4-2, with one save and a 3.34 ERA in 68 games with the Baltimore Orioles last season.

Terms of the contract are not known at this time.

I wouldn't be surprised if he got the chance to close in Toronto. It will be him or Acquilino Lopez.

Jason, wern't you really high up on this guy?

Yep...sox are just going to sit around out there because they have so many dumb contracts on their team.

Can anyone wake up our Dumb GM and Owner :o

Well maybe this offseason won't be as exciting as we once thought... <_>

Oh, it's exciting, just not for our team...People in New York, Boston, the Northside, Anaheim are all excited. Sigh, sometimes I feel like an masochist for being a Sox fan.

Damn Lightenberg was one guy I wanted in the pen. I was confused why the O's let him go. I don't think he's going to get too much...Even if the O's do add Vlad and I-rod; without any pitching they're done...Not to mention the Redsox and Yankees are in the same division...

2 years, 4.5 mil...Seems a bit overpaid; but not bad.

Dang, I dunno if there's many free agents out there now for our pen who would be suitable. Lightenberg would hav been a very nice get.

Maybe that's why we didn't sign him.

Let me tell you though....the one thing seperating the 2003 Blue Jays from being the 2000 White Sox was a good bullpen. Their bullpen had about no good pitchers in it.

Seems overpaid -- I think not -- a quality proven RIGHT-HANDED arm..

The sox just offered 15MIL contract to a LEFTY--- who's about the same a lightenburg. and doesn't even fill a need... My head hurts-- I think it may explode soon.

There is nothing official about the Sox offering Eddie that. Just some guy wrote it.

good-- cuz I'm getting upset here... I know Jason is always campaigning for the GM job... But right now if this is true, I KNOW I COULD DO A BETTER JOB THAN KW
