December 11, 200322 yr Saw this at WSI. A rumor says that this is being talked about: White Sox trade Ordonez and Konerko for Nick Johnson and Livan Hernandez. I'd do that. Nick Johnson is a stud. And adding Hernandez as the #4 doesn't hurt.
December 11, 200322 yr My opinion, but a terrible move if it happens. Sure we cut payroll, but will it really matter with the talent we lose? Ordonez is not worth a #4 starter and someone that I'd say is far from a stud. If Johnson is a stud, then Ordonez must be God Almighty. But hey, thats how messed up the money situation is...

Yankees never let anyone good go somewhere else Look at their freaking trades over the years Nick Johnson is freaking mediocre at best He hit .280 15 50 or so last year....numbers very similar to that. However, his .900 OPS speaks for itself. His OBP was .422. Johnson is not overhyped, in fact, I'd go as far as to say that he is overlooked. He is going to be a hell of a player someday.

Yanks get Kevin Brown, Dodgers get Frank Thomas and the Sox get Jeff Weaver. Again, only a rumor I've heard. I don't like it. Trading a guy who's entire career has been with the Sox for a guy who has openly admitted that he hates the Sox.

December 11, 200322 yr Nick Johnson is far from mediocre. Maybe he's had some injury problems but he's got great patience and power at the plate, and is a good 1st baseman defensively. I think someone that says Johnson is overrated is wrong.
