Who cares about these post totals? It is the stupidest thing I can think of. If that's the point of these boards, I've overestimated everyone here.

 

Would a mod please email me why spammers ball was locked and such important thread like THE Fanny thread again continues?

 

We leave up such brilliant posts like Richard Gere and Gerbils but move swiftly if someone jokes about spam and tries a little humor to stop all these congratulations on writing 3000 posts.

Once post totals are meaningless, we'll have some quality around here.

The point is there are so many other b.s. topics that don't get locked. Why did this one get locked? Now we are judging the quality of the threads and if they don't produce great works we are going to lock them.

I can think of a lot of worst threads ever and Tex makes some good points, the spammers ball thread was hardly one of the worst ever. The call was made and I stand by Jas's decision. But piling on is an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

to me the celebrate with massive posting the "milestone" posts is junk.

that is all just to me and that other people enjoy those things, my opinion is just purely personal and why should I feel rip into other people's stuff like that? I say enough, we all say enough - the more I learn to just ignore what I feel meaningless because there are some who find fun and community in what I don't care for - that's the cool way to go, to me.

 

In fact, texsox's spammer's ball was just a way of really pointing out how meaningless some of the thrads are - it was brilliant guerilla theatre.

 

it is also off season and people are out of school for a few weeks and it is a time to be silly and to play and thus because of the time of year of year, we will see an increase in "meaningless posts" which will end when soxfest and ST arrive or when a trade is made if one ever is - so since this is the season for this, why get out of shape?

 

Now past experience tells me Elton John was right that saturday night's alright for fighting so I am bailing out of here because the worst fights ever had on soxtalk were on saturday nights and I don't want a piece of this at all.

I stand by everything that I said on the larger issue - just that cubsuck (and Ross) were not what I was really trying to get at. But Steve, I will not disagree that cubsuck (and Ross) caught s*** from me that he (they) did not deserve and I have told cubsuck I am sorry, tried to say something to that effect in that thread with my last post, and I say it here.

I see your point, cw, but if all this stuff is unnecessary, then an

"off-topic" board and "sports bar" board should not be here and any non-White Sox related threads should be disallowed.
