NO acquisitions worth mentioning. Players leave, leave and leave. Not the stuff of happy discussion. and my point Critic which I failed to make well is that those are frivilous to me but that is so utterly a subjective opinion that it is not applicable at all to what should be on the board - yes, the other forums exist for the reasons that you state and are more active now for the reasons that you state - and what i was trying to say is, if a thread seems stupid, just skip it - because if a threas is fun to others, as annoying as it may be, maybe best to let it go because what is good or not good to one person is not the same as what is to another. The other forums are one of the things that make soxtalk great. The variety of posting topics is fun and in fact I have learned much from others in many threads. And it is intended to build community. I wish I had expressed myself better because I agree with you all the way. You just said it better than me. He mad a hilariously biting thread start with the "Spammer's ballroom"...I was simply adding the the satire by showing y'all how ridiculous this f***ing site can be when people just add s*** to add s***. I don't care if the thread was locked...it most likely should have been, but telling Tex he was wrong for doing it is completely out of the question. There are some gross offenders to the spamming crime, and myself, tex, cwsox, southsider, etc aren't among them. You'll notice Age might be a major indicator. We're not (at least, I'm not) saying that Tex is a bad poster or even that he spams a lot but that thread was f***ing dumb and was only getting worse. You, on the other hand, spam like crazy. It doesnt offend me that you believe I have nothing positive to add to this site, PA. I post at Soxtalk to recieve information on the Chicago White Sox and not spend time in the off topic forum trying to make friends. Because its the off season I frequently browse threads in this forum that spark my interest. Now during several threads I noticed you and Texsox exchanging a spam-like conversation that goes back and forth. It didnt bother me at first because I would just scroll past the s*** or exit the thread. After viewing this several times I made a comment that it was annoying and to stop. You dont have to......You can keep doing it all you want PA. And I wasn't aware that by pointing this out I've ruined the site. Beastly atleast accepts criticism. I think the thing to point out, before I go on with my evening and forget this even happened, is that there are a myriad of people who post unnecessary comments...myself included. spiff and flash post good posts in their own right, but it was just A)unnecessary to comment and B)unfounded against Tex, cos he's one of the best we've got. s'all I'm saying. hope we can all get liquered up now and have some fun! Nobody argues the thread title was clever and when I opened I thought there would be more biting satire and clever comebacks that I've come to expect from you and PA and a few others. There wasn't, no big deal, but did it have to drag on 5 pages and give beastly and begood even more ideas?? If I was a mod I wouldn't lock it up because there wasn't anything offensive or mean-spirited in it, but I COMPLETELY undestand what Jason did. The outcome is what's truly sad. In hindsight I probably should of just ignored it and let it be, but I just thought it was pointless...the first post, by Tex...made the point, after 5 pages I was like geeze, does it really need to keep going. Who cares about these post totals? It is the stupidest thing I can think of. If that's the point of these boards, I've overestimated everyone here. Would a mod please email me why spammers ball was locked and such important thread like THE Fanny thread again continues? We leave up such brilliant posts like Richard Gere and Gerbils but move swiftly if someone jokes about spam and tries a little humor to stop all these congratulations on writing 3000 posts. The hot chick thread at least offered the viewer some pleasing images. The "spam" thread offered the viewer nothing but a few words typed over and over in 8 or 10 posts in a row. I know.
