January 10, 200422 yr FIVE consecutive shutouts! 325-plus minutes of shutout hockey and COUNTING - a new NHL record! Here's a guy who was third on his own team's depth chart, and didn't even PRACTICE with the team for a while - the Coyotes had the two other goalies practice with the team and Boucher had to take shots from coaches after practice. He only got to play when Sean Burke got injured. He's really caught lightning in a bottle - I'm curious to see how long he can keep it going.
January 10, 200422 yr How unbelieveable is that? I watched the highlights from last night, and there were some incredible saves he made. And actually he has a shot at the all time record that was established before there were red lines in hockey in 1943. If he gets one more shutout he goes into second, and two more (IIRC) he gets into first.

January 10, 200422 yr Does anyone else have the urge to call him Bobby? I was thinking the same thing. This is hilarious!
January 10, 200422 yr Hopefully his mom will let him go for the more shutouts, she might think hockey is too dangerous for her little boy.
January 11, 200422 yr Hopefully his mom will let him go for the more shutouts, she might think hockey is too dangerous for her little boy. You mean "Hookey".
January 11, 200422 yr I picked him up when he had 2 shutouts in a row, figured he was a hot goalie, but I didn't know he'd be this hot!
January 11, 200422 yr I was thinking the same thing. This is hilarious! He must be drinking some high quality H2O then cause hes on fire.
January 11, 200422 yr I was at the game that started the streak. Holy smokes. He had some incredible saves, and he's just kept rolling. Confidence is a funny thing in hockey (well, any sport).
January 12, 200422 yr Tonight Boucher will have to earn it, if he is to have #6. He gets to match up with Ilya Kovalchuk and the Atlanta Thrashers on ESPN tonight. My advice is for anyone who has not gotten to watch Atlanta and Ilya play, watch this game and watch THE most exciting player in the NHL today, bar none.

I think that Datsyuk is a little better to watch than Kovalchuk, but yeah this kid is falt out a montser on the ice... he has the smoothest hands, and has a real quick release on his shot...
January 12, 200422 yr Author Thrashers scored 6 minutes in to end the streak. Congrats to Boucher for an unbelievable run!!!!

I have seen plenty of Datsyuk between ESPN and Hawks games, and I think Ilya is more exciting. But I got nothing against Datsyuk either.
