January 21, 200422 yr Spring is in the air, or at least that is what they call this semester. I have a screwed up schedule because I was so busy posting here, I forget to pay my tuition before the deadline and they dropped me from a couple courses I wanted. I have: College Algebra Research Methods in Psychology Autobiographical Literature (dead people from 200 years ago) Algebra has been a struggle so far. It has been 20 years since I worried about polynomials, quadratic equations, square roots, and I hope after this semester it will be 40 more. Way back when I took the required course for my program, it doesn't hold up to the standard and I have to retake a math requirement. I had a 26 on the Math portion of the ACT or else I would have had to take a intermediate class that wouldn't have counted for nothing. The other two tie into my Psy Major / English Minor
January 21, 200422 yr Greek Mythology and Civilization (gen ed), Natural Disasters (took it because there's five other people I know taking it), American Politics (gen ed), Contemporary American Society (whatever that is, took it because the teacher is easy and the class is at night), and Indstu-Film Festival (I've already forgotten what this is, someone told me to take it with them so I said what the hell). You can tell I put a lot of thought into which classes I take.
January 21, 200422 yr American Retoric and Thought 150 - An english class...it focuses on disabilities, the three books we have to read are all about women who have had disabilities, including Helen Keller. Half of this class is athletes, it's a joke. Math 124 - Calculus Theories...eh, it's math. Psychology 101 - Introduction to Psychology...it is a super easy class. There are 1000 possibly points, with a possibly 100 extra credit points. Only four of the five exams count towards the grade. General Conditioning I - I don't even have to attend this class. It is only one credit, but varsity athletes can just write down what they do for their sport, and get credit.
January 21, 200422 yr Linguistics, Neuroscience, Psycholinguinstics, Biomedical Ethics, and maybe Religious Authenticity... I'm excited about most of it--except for the Ethics class--stupid graduation requirements!
January 21, 200422 yr Author Linguistics, Neuroscience, Psycholinguinstics, Biomedical Ethics, and maybe Religious Authenticity... I'm excited about most of it--except for the Ethics class--stupid graduation requirements! By now I should have been happily into nothing but Psy and a English, but these damn make up general eds are driving me nuts. I still have a couple histories, Bio 2, gym class (I refuse to call it kiniseology) and a computer class to go to complete this programs general ed 45 hour core. Anyone have a good source for cheap textbooks other than off campus bookstores?

Anyone have a good source for cheap textbooks other than off campus bookstores? Yeah, gen eds are the worst--sometimes I kick myself for going to a liberal arts school. But overall I really think it's made me a better coversationalist and more well rounded. And I definitely feel the gym requirement was a bit much. But hey, now I can take ANYBODY on for badminton. As for the textbooks--I would definitely take a look around campus--usually students set up a sell-resell consignment co-op. Otherwise check out http://wwww.half.com They have a textbooks option I believe...

January 21, 200422 yr Those are some mascots...the Salukis, the Sycamores, the Aces, and one thing that looks like a bumblebee. The one that looks like a bumble bee is the logo for the Wichita State Shockers. I may be a bit biased here, but I think the best of those logos is the fifth from the left!
