Here's a trade rumor that makes perfect sense!!

Also, the Dodgers would have to throw a top prospect in like a James Loney or Miller with the Sox throwing in a mid-level prospect like Gonzalez(just from potential.) We would get a pretty good pitchers whose numbers have only gotten better since he's been here. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/stats?statsId=6852

He is also only 30 years old, so he's got time left and the most obvious part is that he and Shingo are best friends. Shingo would feel comre confortable in the clubhouse, which would lead to better production. Maybe a little far-fetched the the White Sox will have a TOP 5 rating of teams in Japan, which would lead to more revenue. With Konerko gone we could sign Randall Simon or Eric Karros to play first base.

**This rumor was reported by a guy on Sporting News Radio**

Iishi >> Konerko. I think the prospects would be way reversed. The Sox would have to throw in a Reed, Honel, or someone of that ilk to get this deal to work. Besides isn't Iishi going to be the Dodgers #1 or #2 starter this year? If so there is no way that they deal him.

Is this a trade rumor... or an idea you have come up with?

Above, I wrote that is was reported by a guy on Sporting News radio, his name Dave Van Dyck9 (actually on Fox Sports Radio which is basically Sporting News.) Anyways, at least it provides conversation.

Iishi suffers from control problems. He strikes out a ton of people, but once he gets rattled he loses it. I wouldn't want him...

So we get, in a few posts, Ishii >> Konerko (which is garbage, imo) and Ishii is not worth having. Ya gotta love this board! :headbang

Look at Ishii's numbers, who cares about control problems when he had a sub 4.00 era, he is not a Neal Cotts.

Unless you are Pedro Martinez or Mark Prior, all power pitches have control issues. They throw more pitches and therefore need to throw more strikes. This is not the case with Neil Cotts. he simply has control issues.

The Dodgers would not give up Perez for Konerko there is no way they will give up Kaz. If they do anything they will trade Perez to get rid of him and sign Maddux.

In that regard he could be the Kordell Stewart of the White Sox.

I thought Jon Garland already had that position covered?

dont you all miss kenny making his "blockbuster trades" of the past few years and then we would spend the rest of the off season argueing about whether they good moves or not???...of course every trade he made help put us in the position we are now...but atleast it was boring

ive got such a bad feeling about this season

Konerko for Ishii would be an interesting proposition.

I think Ishii makes less than Perez, so the money might offset the talent.

Eventhough Ishii has a sub 4 era, you have to look at this statistic:

Away 4.70 4 5 0 0 13 13 0 69.0 67 41 36 8 43 56 .258

Above 4.5 away from the pitcher friendly LA park, and this is in the national league.

I do think Ishii would be an interesting pickup, especially if it was for Konerko.

So you would rather have a guy who's in his early 30's and has been having control problems for the last two years he's been here. Or would you rather have a kid who's in his early 20's who hasn't pitched a whole season, has alot of upside, and is still learning how to pitch? I rest my case.

I like the thought that he is friends with zero and would make him comfortable. He was an All-Star at one time, 2002 at Milwaukee, I think.

I'd do that deal. Ishii is a solid pitcher, but he gets himself into jams. If Coop could work a few things out the Sox could really be set. He strikes out a lot of guys and has stuff and is a quality pitcher.

The problem is he rarely goes deep into games cause he throws so many pitches.

Not a chance in hell you'd get Loney or Miller, but you could see this deal go straight up, although I don't know if either team would make this deal.
