I'm thankful I don't live in International Falls....I saw the other day that it was like -45 there the other day. I'm happy enough that it is supposed to be above 0 by this weekend. I am looking forward to 5 degree highs. I'll actually be able to go outside then.

January 30, 200422 yr Sorry, I was busy picking fresh oranges off my tree and couldn't post sooner to share your pain. Very tasty this year. We had a fair amount of rain, which really helped. I'm a little sunburned from this past weekend. Do not worry. Soon the warm weather and slush and mud will be everywhere. This is PRECISELY the reason why I laugh my fool ass off whenever a Southern state gets 2 inches of snow and 857 car accidents!! I honestly don't mind winter, but walking to the bus in -5 weather really bites ass. Wind chill of like 20 below, it goes WAY beyond "winter weather". I don't know how I'd deal without all four seasons - it would kinda suck to not experience winter. Of course, that could be the masochist in me talking....after all, I DO follow the White Sox...

BTW, Grand Forks, North Dakota hit an all time low this morning of -44 below(well, that is since 1905 when they started keeping track of it all). I'd heard some nasty stories about Grand Forks, but if -44 is the lowest it's ever gotten, that isn't so bad. I've also heard that Williston, North Dakota has gotten to -50. That's nothing compared to that Canada country up north though.

It sucks that it will start during rush hour tonight - I have a dinner to go to that I don't want to be late to - my aunt and uncle are here on a surprise visit from Ireland and they will be leaving (assuming their flight isn't canceled) tomorrow - it was a trip that my cousin put together for them.
