SoxAce
I havent seen much of Reed. From what I heard I like a lot. I really like to see someone play before I become a fan. I think we could really use his OBP and speed at the top of the order. If his minor league numbers translate to the majors that is. Very true, even though I kinda added that little remark in there.. Hopefully everyone will get to see him play this year.
BrandoFan
I'm sorry. I never knew that everyone around here was so thin skinned about this subject. That's because this site is supposedly run by a Voodoo-sponsored homosexual cabal, silly. You really didn't get that memo, did ya?

cwsox
No problem, SSI. I'm not offended by anything you have said in this thread (or any other). I admire people who have the balls to say whats on their mind. Before you were around, several members were banned because of things they said on homosexuality. Don't know if you heard of that, but its the reason everybody all uptight on the subject. People were banned because of utterly vile lies they said using homosexuality as a launching pad, for vicious personal attacks that were horrendously untrue and as out and out vicious as could be. No one deserved banning more than BMR, clujer, and oldroman. Imagine the surprise that they have been banned at other sox sites. Hate speech here is not allowed, never has been, never will be. Someone refers to a person's racial background in an attacking, bigoted way, there will be repercussions. Same as if done on orientation issues. And if someone throws out outrageous lies and vicious personal filth about someone else, they will get banned. It is very simple. One has to do a great, great deal to get banned from soxtalk. Things go on here that don't happend on other boards. That is the way it was intended. That bmr, clujer, and oldroman were banned says that they went over the line, way over the line, repeatedly, with warnings and they just picked up the pace. They wanted it, they got it. Hate speech. Not allowed. We have the frankest of exchanges here. makes soxtalk special. But hate talk - and trolling - have always been not allowed. That is part of the essence of soxtalk. They were a quartet of uber-trolls who just happened to root for the Sox and who tried their best to turn SoxTalk into ESPN dead zone. That is not an opinion open to interpretation. Mathew
Hate speech, no. Hate sites, yes. Alright got it. He doesn't hate G.W. Bush for any bigoted reason, drop it. And finall Sideshow and cwsox voices of reason. thanks Mathew - I see that Bush or Chimp site which Spiff wants to keep talking about as a humor site, like the poking fun or parodies that are done on SNL or by stand up comedians. I did not see it at all remotely as a hate site. Not remotely close. I still don't. I think Spiff is pushing a personal grudge or personal agenda or a political agenda to claim that gently humerous site is a hate site. If others see it as a hate site, all those cute pictures, I would say my perception is wrong. Maybe someone shoudl do a poll, if it is worth it, and I doubt it since Spiff is the only one still on it, but really Spiff, that is in no way a hate site, not remotely, not a chance in hell. It is a humor site. It is as gently humerous as the monologues of Letterman and Leno and one of them even did the Bush Chimp thing- are they purveyors of hate? Find a way to show me that that funny site is hate, and I will be open to seeing your documentation to establish that, and if it turns out it is a hate site, I will apologise that I misunderstood the site. So please put your thoughts and proofs tigether and pm me and I will read them seriously.

I think someone who devotes that much time to making fun of the president has a strong hate for him. You can deny it all you want. I don't care. When you talk about hate speech, you are specifically speaking about using words like "gay" and "f*g". People have said before that they don't think there is hate intended when people use them nowadays, the words have taken on alternate meanings, but you refuse to listen to them. Other than 40s Brit slang for a cigarrete, what exactly is the alternate meaning of "f*g" that I am unaware of? I'm not saying there isn't one, I'm just not hip to the new lingo [but I'm willing to knock you my lobes while you wax true, as we old beatniks used to say]. They still use it in Britain for a smoke. I was so shocked when I would go to the clubs and people would ask me for a one. I would say, Pardon! And then I would say, ohhhhhh, right. A CIGARETTE...Cultural confusion...
