Prior on Steroids??

Featured Replies

I heard on the Score this morning them mentioning something about Jack McDowell saying Prior may have been on steroids. I can't find any other info. Anybody else know anything?

No, this is serious. They acted like he (McDowell) just mentioned it, not so much an accusation. They weren't making that big a deal outof it, so I don't think it was an April Fool's joke.

I highly doubt it. He was amazing in college and they do so much drug testing their that it would be really hard to get away with it.

Yeah, I doubt it as well. Steroids can't put movement on your fastball. I'm just trying to figure out where Black Jack was coming from.

Ehhh...I know a lot of pitchers here use steroids. They don't really test that much, if they only use them during the offseason they can get away with it.

Yes, he is. That would explain those large legs he has..

He DOES hit the long ball!

It is mentioned in an article By Greg Couch in the Sun-Times.

He has a tendon injury that's not healing," said Jack McDowell."You shouldn't have a problem like that that doesn't heal in a month. Thats what happens to guys who use steroids."No, I'm not saying I'm suspicious of Prior."

The article sounded like a desperate writer trying to twist words IMO. :bang

Jesus doesn't need steroids. It is just that darned nail wound acting up again, from where he got nailed to the cross to save us all.

So being sox fans, I believe that would make us all Jewish. When is our savior coming?

Jason Bere!

I do have agree with Dusty for once. It is pretty crappy to say that a guy is on steroids like that.

word traveled fast

Jack McDowell was my favirote player behind the Big hurt when I was younger.

He can do no wrong in my eyes.

Besides, the guy waived the finger to everyone in Yankee stadium, I don't think he gives a rats ass what Mark Prior and Dusty baker say.

Jack McDowell was awesome. If it wasn't for Ventura he's be my fav ex-Sox player.

Flipping the bird to Spankee fans was the s*** too! haha

:huh But is he sharing needles with Sosa?

Yea but if he made a stupid ass comment like that, he was wrong - if he didn't have proof to back it up he should have had a little bit of shut the hell up to drink before he opened his trap.

I think Black Jack is suffering from foot-in-mouth disease right about now. I believe he tried to downplay it, but that is really irresponsible to link a name with steriods like he did. He had no facts whatsoever on which to base that comment.

The Messiah has relayed his holy words onto the Chicago Sun Times:

"''Shut up,'' he said with a smile. ''Do I look like I'm on steroids? Obviously, I'm not. What do you want me to say?''

''I don't know why he would say that,'' Prior said. ''I don't know the guy, never met him. That's the worst thing I've ever heard. It doesn't make sense. It's stupid. I could understand if he was making a joke of it, but if he said it seriously, that's stupid.''

I LOVE IT; baseless or not this is adding fuel to the hatred between Cubs and White Sox. I haven't checked over at Chicago Sports yet, but I bet the spin doctors at the Trib are already assassinating his credibiliy (which is already low)
