as a die hard sox fan, devastating is an understatement for yesterdays loss. after a loss like that, on opening day, i cant deal with it. i cant even look at anything about the mlb for a loooooooong time afterwards. i know its only one game, but still, every game is important. how do you deal with such awful losses

I can deal with it. It's already put right behind me. I'm just focused on this team winning a game tom. Plus, the Twins were losing last time I checked so if we win tomorrow, we'll be tied with them which is always a plus.

I do the obvious...I realize that there's still 161 games left.

During the course of a 162 schedule I don't normally shut myself out from the media, but today was different. Coupled with the circumstance itself and the Cubs opening day win I choose to avoid ESPN, radio, and newspaper articles on yesterdays monumental collapse. May seem extreme but its good to avoid all proof that opening day 2004 ever existed.

Tomorrow is a new day and a new game. Hopefully we can all put this s*** behind us. :headbang :bringit

never get too high with any victory

never get too low with any defeat

we will lose at least 60 this season - it is just the way it is

FWIW, you were not alone.

Do you think that if we have a 6-run 9th and comeback and win the game tomorrow that we'll get as much air-time as the game yesterday did?

We'll get'm tommorow. I really wanna c what ozzie does with pitching tommorow. :bringit

Alcohol, and lots of it...

I to avoided the radio, and espn, just all the media, but when beltran hit the homer I dealt with it, by punching a wall, breaking one of my pictures on the wall, and making the smoke detector fall of the ceiling, my mom wasn't very happy. :o

 :headbang

I have no problem with Wright as closer, but then you have a 6 million dollar bad 7th or 8th inning pitcher in Botch.

Here's my rule, if the sox win, I catch every sportscenter, baseball tonight that I can. If the sox lose, I will watch those shows, but immediately turn the channel when the sox highlights come on.

I plan on drowning a cute, innocent kitten after each Sox loss this season. Here Fluffy, Fluffy, Fluffy....

how to deal with the sox losing................. fire kw...... for starters. :drink

Here's a little word of advice: Don't listen to sports talk radio. They're usually negative and will just piss you off more. Plus, they only have callers who call to b**** and moan and say the usual (i.e, these guys suck!).

When the ball flew out of the park, I yelled "f***!" for as long and as loud as I could. Followed by a few other choice words. Yesterday's loss hit me pretty hard, but I remind myself that everyone loses a game like that during the year. We've got ours out of the way, so let's move on.

Alcohol, and lots of it...

After a defeat, drink to drown your sorrows.

After a win, drink to celebrate your victory!

:cheers :drink :cheers :drink :cheers
