Amidst a horrible June lost were April, May, July and September.

 

He would literally have to try NOT to have a 360 OBP.

Problem with Jimenez wasn't getting on all the time, he was too damn stupid to know how to stay on the bases. He was always finding ways to get himself out. He was about the dumbest player out there.

i don't care how good he's doing, dj has no idea how to play the game of baseball, he killed us too many times.

Dropped popup in Oakland. Nuff said.

Granted, Jimenez is bad defensively (then agan so is Todd Walker), but his baserunning is not nearly as bad as it's presented -- he can still score from 1st on a double, go from 1st to 3rd on a single to right, tag up from 2nd on a medium-depth flyball to RF, etc, etc.

 

With Cinci, he hit got on base, played tolerable defense and didn't get picked off much if at all.

 

Right now, he looks sharp even when he makes OUTS.

Wow, Todd Walker is making Jimenez look like a GG -- 3 times through first 4 innings of today's game alone, he failed to get his glove on the ball an average 2B probably gets to.

 

That's no different than making 3 errors as far as I am concerned.

He started hot for us last season too. Remember how much he dropped off?

The worst second sacker we have had recently is none other than Roberto Alomar.

And we gave up Royce Ring for him. Way to go Kenny.

 

How is Robby doing this year? Is he still hustling down the line like he did last year with us?

 

Last year we had a better chance of winning the division with Harris than we did with Robbs.

He started hot for us last season too. Remember how much he dropped off?

Or better yet....Just watch his at-bats if you want to understand why he has a 460 OBP so far. I was lucky to catch a Cubs game -- the dude is tough as hell to get out and had some nice baserunning to boot. Still below-average defense but not as big a liability as it's made out to be; Todd Walker was much worse.

I agree with the majority on this one. The only thing I like about Jiminez is the fact that he's gone.

His bat, solid speed and his glove (as of coming to the Reds has fielded better than Robbie in that span) are doing all the "speaking" and all the "caring".

 

Put him against RHP with Uribe against tougher LHP starters and watch Frank and Maggs come up with runners on base for a change.

The only thing I like about Jiminez is the fact that he's gone.

Brando sumtimes numbers don't matter. This is the case with Jimenez. The whole culture instantly became betta when Lazy Ass Jimenez left for Cincinatti. We all know he has talent, that's why we traded for him in the 1st place. But when he goes out here lookin like he doesn't giv a s*** when u hav othas bustin their asses tryin to make it to the big leagues, then it's just not worth havin a headcase like him around. Although I would hav like to hav seen what Ozzie would hav done if he was still here for this season.

I think not, we would hav prob finished 3rd behind Kansas City. The rest of the team played betta when he left, all of their numbers picked up. Now if he had been there this year with Ozzie then yes, mayb he would hav been kept in line, and he would prob put up sum good numbers. But he had his chance here in Chicago and blew it with his nonchalant attitude.

Brando, I even have to disagree with you on that one. I remember quite well in a game against the Twins that we lost early last year that someone got a hit to RF, a little blooper that was obviously going to fall in, and Jimenez only got to 2B(or maybe he was on 2B and only got to 3B...it was one of the two). He is a s***ty baserunner, and that's being kind.

 

I too am glad he is gone. His s*** attitude and his s*** defense was not something I liked to watch. I'm glad he's in Ohio playing for Cincinatti.

The way you're making it sound, Jim-Jim is worse than SARS and plague combined.

 

How convenient; then we don't have to face the fact that with Everett and Jimenez the team would have in all likelyhood made the playoffs -- and off to a fantastic start in 2004.
