April 19, 200421 yr I hope this team doesn't have the same problem they've had in the past of facing pitchers they've never seen before. Donovan Osborne threw three innings of relief for the Yankees on Saturday in Boston and won't start Tuesday against Mark Buehrle at U.S. Cellular Field in the opener of a three-game series. Left-hander Alex Graman, who was called up Saturday from Columbus, will make his first major-league start.
April 19, 200421 yr Yeah, this scares the crap out of me. I love the job Ozzie is doing, but I think this teams struggles with "fresh" pitchers extended beyond the manager. It could possibly be a problem in scouting
April 19, 200421 yr thread was started and talked about yesterday... http://www.soxtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=17528
April 19, 200421 yr Don't fret...Remember, since Ozzie's here EVERYTHING has changed! Nothing from last year applies to this year. This team will BE GOOD against new pitchers!
April 19, 200421 yr Author thread was started and talked about yesterday... http://www.soxtalk.com/index.php?showtopic=17528 Sorry. I don't sit in front of my computer 24-7.
April 19, 200421 yr I'm not worried. It's only one game, and I didn't expect the sweep the SKankees anyways. I still think our luck with new pitchers will change this year.
April 19, 200421 yr I don't think any headBANGERS wear headBANDS!!! ....And whats with that attached image of mine that quicktime thing, I didn't attach anything
April 19, 200421 yr Yeah the Yankees dont have much in their system so I doubt that these guys are going to be able to shut down our offense we have shown so far this year.. we are a much better team
April 19, 200421 yr We are a much better team than anyone else out there...This is THE year for us...I can just feel it, and don't call me a Cubs fan for it...This is gonna be more exciting than even 2000!!!! On to summer!
April 19, 200421 yr Yeah the Yankees dont have much in their system so I doubt that these guys are going to be able to shut down our offense we have shown so far this year.. we are a much better team I am a tad bit surprised they are calling up from Columbus already.
April 19, 200421 yr I am a tad bit surprised they are calling up from Columbus already. Injuries are the big problem. They wouldn't be otherwise.
April 19, 200421 yr I am a tad bit surprised they are calling up from Columbus already. I know what you mean. Why don't they just buy someone?
April 19, 200421 yr I hope this team doesn't have the same problem they've had in the past of facing pitchers they've never seen before. Whatever, that is so last year. (in my best b****y, spoiled little girl voice.)
April 20, 200421 yr I know what you mean. Why don't they just buy someone? Yeah, I mean, that is the usual course of action
April 20, 200421 yr I am a tad bit surprised they are calling up from Columbus already. I'm surprised they called up a lefty to face the Sox right handed dominated lineup.
April 20, 200421 yr Author why not? Where should I start? A wife, a two year old, a job, a garage that needs a new roof, a leaky basement, a bathroom remodel, a swingset I have to build for said two year old, two dead trees in my yard I need to cut down... How's that?
April 20, 200421 yr Author Whatever, that is so last year. (in my best b****y, spoiled little girl voice.)
April 20, 200421 yr A couple of thoughts in the Yankee strategy. Of course they are going to start the kid out of town and not at Yankee stadium. It gives them an excuse if they continue to struggle against the Sox and the league in general They know our history of generousity towards 1st time starters.
April 20, 200421 yr I'm surprised they called up a lefty to face the Sox right handed dominated lineup. Alex Graham has been pitchin for Columbus against the Charlotte Knights. Last time he pitched, he struck out 8 but gave up 3 runs in 5 innings. He has a season ERA of 0.90 though, so he's been pitchin well in AAA. Hopefully our guys can get on top of him early.
